Liberty Stars FC emerged winners of the 2025 All Stars Super Cup following a hard-earned 2-1 victory over Evergreen All Stars.
The two teams battled for supremacy at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos last weekend.
Their previous two encounters ended in a stalemate.
Following a frenetic start to the game, Liberty FC took the lead just before the break.
The started the second half strongly and doubled their lead after a superb team move.
Evergreen All Star however reduced the tally few minutes later.
They were however unable to get the equaliser despite creating numerous scoring chances.
President of the Liberty Stars, Ikenna Nnena was elated to see his side come out victorious.

“I feel good, it was battle for supremacy. I feel very elated , very excited. It was a beautiful game, a good performance from both teams,” Nnena stated.
“We thank God, we were victorious. I’m really excited with the outcome of the game. It wasn’t easy because our opponent were also determined to win as well.”
Speaking further on the performance of his players Nnene said: “I can’t blame them for tiring out during the course of the game. These are veteran footballers, we are aging not getting any younger.
“But then I always encourage them to increase their exercise.We all know exercise is good for the body and, for heathy living too.
He also spoke about the importance of playing in All Stars games with other teams.
”It is something that is good, we encourage adult football, and adult exercise. It will be something great if other All Stars teams that engage in activities like this.
President of Evergreen All Stars, Adegboye Ahmed Olaseni praised his team despite the defeat.
“We cannot complain, this is football, you win some and lose some. The players gave a good account of themselves, but unfortunately our best was not enough,” he declared.
“We will take lessons from this game, and hopefully do well when we meet again.”
