Jerome Akor scored a brace as Montpellier defeated Toulouse 3-0 at the Stade de la Mosson-Mondial 98 on Sunday afternoon.
Akor opened scoring for the home team in the 13th minute.
Midfielder Khalil Fayad doubled the advantage on 63 minutes.
Akor added the third 18 minutes from time.

The 23-year-old has now scored seven goals in nine league appearances for Michel Dar Zakarian’s side this season.
The former Flying Eagles striker is the second top scorer in the French top-flight in the current campaign behind Kylian Mbappe.
Montpellier currently occupy 10th position on the table with 11 points from nine games.
They will face holders Paris Saint-Germain in their next league game.

Caf have opted for 23 man team for this afcon instead of the 28 man list of the previous event. This means that pesero is left with 20 man list apart from the 3 goalkeepers. Pesero will have to settle for seven defenders five midfielders four wingers and four strikers, but it seems the man prefer to have eight defenders as he have been doing which will then reduce the number of power9 to three players, its still beneficial for the fact that iheanacho who will be listed as a winger can also be an option for the 9 position.
Boniface and osihmen is obviously the first two, the battle is now left for Awonyi,akor and moffi.

Ajayi,omeruo,bassey(tunarigha,ekong,awaziem) will fight for the fourth central back, i think tunarigha will edge the others.

Moses,lookman,iheanacho,(chuks and tella) will battle for the fourth winger, i think tella will edge chuks as he has been completely useless since 2019 afcon, i think chukueze will not go to this afcon just as iheanacho was droped by rohr in 2019 afcon, onless he improve very well tella will drop him.
Strikers
Osimen,boniface,(awoniyi,moffi,akor) this one will be very tough but i suspect moffi will edge awoniyi and akor, becos he have done better than awo and akor for the eagles, pesero seems to also like him, awoniyi is supposed to even come above boniface but the guy havnt really impressed in the supereagles, he has the xperienced but he havnt shown class apart from saotome goal, however if he impress in coming games he can retain a spot, tough battle between him and moffi, akor and sadiq cannot brake into this team, onless through a miracle.
Akor has yet to play for Super Eagles so you can’t say Moffi has done better than him in Eagles… anyone comparing Akor’s style of play to Moffi will if being honest, will see that Akor appears a better direct playing attacker with better rounded game than Moffi… to be as the current stats reveal… he is ahead of Awoniyi and Moffi.
Akor’s 7 goals in 10games puts him in contention for a place in the next call up for the world cup qualifier double header against Lesotho and Zimbabwe respectively.
The only reason he will be overlooked is because he has not worked with the team before.Hopefully,he should gatecrash the nations cup squad if he continues to bang in the goals in the french league.
Candidly,Akor,Osimhen and Boniface are the three leading strikers in Nigerian football today and must be in the team to the next afcon if they’re in a great physical condition.
