Lille Favourites To Sign Osimhen From Sporting Charleroi

French club Lille Metropole have emerged as the favourite to sign Nigeria Victor Osimhen from Belgian outfit Sporting Charleroi, reports Completesports.com.

Osimhen spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Sporting Charleroi from German Bundesliga side VFL Wolfsburg and recorded 20 goals as well as four assists in 36 games in all competitions.

Charleroi last week Friday activated the €3.5m buyout option in their agreement with Wolfsburg to make the forward their first signing of the summer.

They are expected to demand between €12m and €15m from Lille which will represent significant profit on what they paid Wolfsburg for Osimhen’s services.

Lille are looking to bring in the Nigeria international as replacement for Nicolas Pepe who is set to leave the club this summer.

Italian giants AC Milan and English Premier League side, Southampton have been also shown interest in signing forward.

Osimhen joined Wolfsburg in 2017 following his exploits with Nigeria’s U-17 side at the cadet World Cup in Chile in 2015 where he won the Golden Boot and Silver Ball awards.

His time with Wolfsburg was blighted by injuries and he made just 14 league appearances for the club.

    I wish him the best…

Lol…Rohr told Brilla saying: “It is always great to have these great players to work with, But the sleepless night for me would come between the night of 8th June and the morning of 9th June in Asaba after the friendly match against Zimbabwe when I have to drop two players from the 25-man provisional list.
“It’s always a hard thing to do but it has to be done because I would have to leave out at least one of the strikers.

I think between Osimhen and Onuachu, one will be drop.

    The question is Who???

  • It will be nice move for him, lille is a good step for him, hazard,Gervinho, mavuba, and many more others came from there

  • Good career progression, it doesn’t matter, if you get drop from the final Afcon squad, nobody will drop you from U23 squad, your time will come.Just stay calm, be respectful and double your hustling, the money will come and you will be forever happy and grateful for the different destination the career has taken you so far.
    God bless Victor Osimeh.
    God bless Nigeria.

Drop him for who? Iheanacho right? Rohr would not drop him, iheanacho and Awaziem are the two players going home sentiments and pay to play apart.

  • Why not drop Ighalo for Osimeh?
    Or even Iheanacho for him?
    Or Rhor for Osimeh?
