Guys you can watch the game on hesgoal.com

  • Greenturf 2 years ago

The South Africans are young compared to our aging team, this youthfulness is an advantage to South Africa.
Well I hope we win.Goodluck super falcons.

  • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

Falcons haven’t been impressive at all…SA is by far the better side. Attacking with supreme confidence lol

  • Very disjointed unorganized team, no game plan, no match roles. They are just kicking the ball without purpose.

I didn’t see any technical input. If we have any positive results from this match it’s a huge luck

    • Greenturf 2 years ago

You won’t see any technical input but there’s and that’s why South Africa had no shot on target, mind you this is a game played on the bench rather than on the pitch.
Because of the strength of both sides and the importance of the first game both coaches have decided to play cautiously and not give their opponents any space to manoeuvre that’s why the game has been drab and dull.
Hopefully,in the second half especially now they have sized each other, the managers could decide to take a bit of risk to see if there team could nick it.
meanwhile, despite scoring low in possession in the first half, the super falcons seems the more likely to score,I won’t be surprise our girls finish victorious in this encounter.

      • Am not sure you really understand this round leather game or you are just being insincere with your assessment of the match.
Playing incoordinated football is different from being cautious.

Can you please tell us the match approach as you read the game from the technical aspect?

  • Bobo Colorado Springs 2 years ago

Let’s watch the second half, i think both teams are being cautious!!

  • Onome at almost 40 can she keep up

  • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

This Waldrum guy honestly doesn’t get it…..He has enjoyed top class friendlies and international invitational games that no other super falcons coach has enjoyed yet he lost to Ghana in the qualifiers and had to scrap through 2-1 almost got eliminated, lost to SA in Lagos 4-2..We were trailing by 3-0 and a few other uninspiring results…..Dude might be technically inept. Just because he is American doesn’t mean he is tactically superior or knows the game better than others..

  • I’m very sorry to say this. This super falcons have regressed almost 10 years back! To think that it is a White man that is coaching this team that is giving us this output is even more shocking. Falcons have never been this bad! What has the coach been doing with this team?
Some players have outlived their usefulness in this team and others are beginning to feel they are indispensable. The only players that have shown they deserve to wear the green-white-green of Nigeria are Alozie and Plumptre. The others, including Oshoala and Ajibade have been passengers in this match.
Why the coach decided to use Alozie as a right back beats my imagination. You are using an attacker as a right back and you think you’re not risking cards in the match? This coach is a surprise!
With the way things are going, the Falcons will start losing and when they do, they will lose big, especially against the likes of Morocco and Tunisia who have already turned their attention to female football.

  • Chudynak 2 years ago

We are not playing well. Poor passes, poor positioning, poor runs and poor clearance. I am not convinced by this team at all. I hope we win or get a draw

Yeah your analysis on this one doesn’t hold water….Waldrum to me is a mechanic and a scam..This is one of the worst displays ever by the female national team..

    • with 2 quick goals I hope you now agree that this coach is a mistake and the team is not up to it at all

  • onwajunior 2 years ago

Lol… Be like sey our gals go chop reach 4 today sha. Mind you Oshoala would have missed those two goals scored by the SA ladies.

  • with 2 quick goals I hope you now agree that this coach is a mistake and the team is not up to it at all

  • JimmyBall 2 years ago

most of those our girls are heavy now… some are clearly too old to still continue. You cant have a girl playing for more than ten years at the top level… even Asisat has passed her prime. It shows the team is not being refreshed… the SA girls are younger and fitter. What is a 37year old woman still doing in the team, of which she could clearly be over 40years old already… Ohale and Onome Ebi. Most the girls are not fit… they will be lucky not to concede up to 4goals. SA is far superior from what I have seen… those girls are very young.

  • I think Picnic and his board deserves to be probed on their policy of coaches recruitment. What basics was this Walnadrum appointed?

  • They should just do a clean sweep after the competition. From the coach to 90% of the team, they have to be changed. This is even more annoying see that there is no strategy from the Falcon. Oh! we have never been this poor.

  • Chudynak 2 years ago

This team is very terrible! I expect the coach to step aside after this game

    • GentleD 2 years ago

This is the same coach that @omo9ja is always praising to the high heavens, Lol.
I didn’t see any kind of coaching input the girls and I have noticed that from the very early days that Waldrum took over the team.

  • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

Alozie plays plays as a forward for Houston dash…..How does the dunce place her as a right full back….Onumanu should have been the top striker while Oshoala should have been out in the wings when the initial tactics failed…..Rita chikwelu abeh it’s time to retire…Onome Ebi has pulled a Musa and seems to have gotten her record caps. We need young, hungry and vibrant girls. SA dominated and outplayed us and makes me even wonder if we can qualify for the WC and if we do what are the prospects with such abysmal performance today…

  • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

This is what you get when you hire a college lever soccer team coach to coach a national team. This man coached college all his coaching career and still is inept….Late substitutions and no tactics. The SA played better and we’re organized from the get go …This is just a horrendous performance. They played The US twice, played Portugal twicw, played Canada twice…..Invitational tourneys and this is the shambolic result we get? Even if he qualifies us for the WC he needs to go.

This is a coach. He knows his job really well. Keeping his tasks simple.

I saw the list of the invited players that currently in Abuja, I can say this coach is ready to build a strong young team for Nigeria.

He invited both home based and foriegn based players to camp. That is the way forward.

Good job Mr. Waldrum. God bless Nigeria!!!

I can’t stop loving coach Waldrum. Wise, technically sound. Smart, he’s tactically there.

    Very humble, easy going man.

“Waldrum, a former American professional soccer player who has coached the USA U23 girls as well as the senior women team of Trinidad and Tobago, underscored his boldness when he handed four players their first caps in the crucial 2022 Women AFCON final qualifying round, first leg match against the Lady Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire in Abuja on 18th February. Defender Ashleigh Plumptre (who has trained with the Nigeria team since August 2021 but got FIFA go-ahead to represent Nigeria at senior level in December 2021), midfielder Amanda Mbadi and forwards Ifeoma Onumonu and Esther Okoronkwo gave good accounts of themselves on the day”.

Wow. This man is like the former Falcons coach, Mr. Dennerby.

So far so good, I am satisfied with coach Waldrum. He has not given excuses like the former world class coach of the Super Eagles coach.

He risk his life against Ivory coast by using two to three new players in a crucial match against the Ivory coast. Ah, something that Oga Rohr failed to do during his time with Eagles.

Something that our own should emulate against Ghana. Can they do it against Ghana this month? Let’s wait and see.

Coach Waldrum refused to recycle players like the former Super Eagles gaffer, he’s doing
his thing systematically, replacing the experienced players with the young players.

Let see what he will be able to achieve with the team at the next year Women African cup of Nations.

This man deserve a loud ovation. The first coach of the female national team to win a tournament outside Africa in less than a month or so.

Less than a year or so, he qualified Super Falcons to Women Africa Nations Cup.

This coach Waldrum used his weakiest team against USA and he shocked the world in that match. I am proud of you so far coach Waldrum. Keep up the great work. God bless Nigeria!!!

  • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

I’m waiting patiently for Omoale to come and blame ‘Oga Rohr’ for this meltdown of the SF under Randy Waldrum….LMAOoooo

    • Edoman 2 years ago

A blind man can never lead a one eye man. The focus man in your posts is a blindman. Him and Odagbemi has brought Nigeria football to its knell. However, all is not lost because we have our ‘learn Dr Drey’ with and among us. Thank you, Dr, for what you do here.

  • This is female football. Our own local coaches will not have done us this bad. At least records of local coaches that coached the Falcons are there for us to see. The NFF will never appoint a good local coach for the Falcons. Even when they do, they will never allow the coach to do his or her job. This is just disgusting watching the Falcons today.
The team is not fit and can’t run. Even when they have the ball, they don’t know what to do with the ball. No strategy or game plan. How low can the Falcons fall!

    • My brother I’m speechless, wondering if this is super falcon. No game plan, no strategies at all.
      Nawaoo for this coach

  • Chudynak 2 years ago

Two losses to this same South Africa by this coach within a year. It has become a losing streak to South Africa. We have really been dethroned by South Africa and it does not matter if we eventually emerge champions

  • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

Dude actually played plumtree as a left full back lmaoo..

  • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

We should all stop being naïve and acting like this is a surprise. I said it here 10 months ago. If we play this South Africans 10 times, we will lose 9 out of 10.

They have shown their previous victories over us were no fluke. They have been narrowing the gap year by year with slim losses, draws and now consistent wins. They beat us in the opening group game in the last AWCON and we scrapped past them in the final to lift the trophy in a game we had no business winning.

Those same girls are now more mature, more experienced and more daring, coupled with the fact that they have gone back home to revamp and establish a FUNCTIONAL FEMALE LEAGUE. Their representative at the African women’s champions league contributed in booting our own representative out in the group stage, on their way to winning the trophy. To further give them a boost, they have been promised huge sums of money should they win this AFCON.

This loss isnt a surprise…..The South Africans are doing a lot of things right at the moment.

I’d stated long before now, we are only going to this AWCON to get a WC qualification ticket….as for the trophy…..FORGET IT. At least not with Waldrum in charge.

Hehehehehe….the Falcons lost to these south africans in the group stage of the last AWCON. The falcons almost lost to them again in the final if not for excellent goalkeeping from Oluehi and naivety and overt anxiety on the part of the SAns. It doesnt get more competitive than that. They have cracked the code of these falcons for good. And lets stop deceiving ourselves, if something(s) doesnt change soon we will lose 9 out of 10 times if we face Bayana Banyana again.

Not minding what some sycophants are signing, the way we scrape wins under Waldrum so far calls for worry, especially as we advance in these qualifiers. The good thing is that the top 3 teams at the AWCON get to qualify for the WWC in the Aussies. So insurance cover us small…but as for winning the trophy…..i’ll rather not expect too much from him.

  • Kunle 2 years ago

Super falcons should have mixed their tactic with long ball as well and also using center to attack is better than wing. They need first goal keeper and ordega in their subsequent game. I believe in kanu than osoola.
Seems osoola does not want to play in this tournament OR it is only me saw it like that.
I in particular missed ordega, better than onumonu.
I believe if we meet south Africa in final it would be different game. Falcons are not so poor to that extent.

  • Jeropal 2 years ago

We do not need foreign coach for falcons. God of thunder will destroy every hand that wants to see Nigerians in pain watching their team going down. Amaju picnic is a wicked fellow. How can they hired a foreign coach to over see the falcon? Local coaches are there. We won virtually all the trophies with local coaches. Oh God! Help kill bad leaders of our country Nigeria. The worse ever game watched in century. This is exactly the way they are managing this great country, causing fear and agitation every. Look at the players, they have out live their prime on the game. We have enough girls around playing in different club here. God of soccer will not forgive the perpetrator of their scandalous act. Old players, to execute Nations Cup. NA WA

  • Edoman 2 years ago

What a pain watching Nigeria’s darling team so poor and so purposeless today. The coach must have been caused and consumed by ‘evil spirit of soccer’. He is a dead man walking. What a shame!

  • Greenturf 2 years ago

We have to be patient and see how we perform in future games.
I think the coach shouldn’t start Onumonu and Oshoala.Onumonu lacks the guile and technique to play from the flank or behind Oshoala. An Odega should have done better because she possesses natural football skills which Onumonu unfortunately hasn’t.This was some of the flaws I noticed.
Ajibade should also can do better with her passes, she has enthusiasm but her end product is poor a tweak in the lineup could revive the falcons. They have a solid bench they could get it right.
I think the team will pick itself, when they get to the knockout stages hopefully they will have a formidable team.
I wouldn’t write off the coach just yet,I have to see performances in subsequent games besides we must not win all the time at some point we would get dethroned it’s a natural thing.Others have to win too doesn’t make us a bad team.
Situations like this will help us to build a stronger team for the future it happens everywhere.
    Our priority should be qualification.

  • Omo9ja 2 years ago

Coach Waldrum and Azeezat should be blamed for this match.

First of all, the coach got it all wrong upon all the friendlies he played before this tournament. Upon all the carbals of players we have? I am shocked that Sunday Easter did not make the list.

More so, majority of our players are old now but needed to be replaced before the tournament but the coaching crew did not replace them.

Oparanozie was missing in this match while Aseezat was playing big man football in the first half.

She had couple of chances in the first half and she missed them all.

Azeezat should be benched for now. That no14 changed the game when she came in.

As I also said, I don’t celebrate failure and I don’t follow people blindly and before this tournament I have said that if coach Waldrum failed to build a strong team, he should be fired and failed to play total football then he have to go.

We don’t have time to waste time kę.

We don’t want another Oga Rohr here.

But we have to wait because Falcons lost their opening match against the same South Africa in the last edition and in the end, Falcons won the tournament.

The best NFF can do is to invest in our products which is our own. I have warned the NFF but we can not do anything because of Amaju Pinnick. He have to go before we can do anything.

Last but not least, my pikin Dr.Drey, you know nothing about football I have said this couple of times.

Where were you when mirror Madagascar wotowoto our darling Super Eagles by 2-0?

You Dr.Drey, Edoman and all the Oga Rohr Nigeria limited were no where to be found and in the end, Oga Rohr were not able to win the Afcon trophy.

Kai, common tea cup, Oga Rohr did not win now you people are here today talking like this kę. Are you people for real ba?

But today, it is very unfortunate to see these Oga Rohr followers talking like this kę.

I hope Waldrum will turns things around and win the tournament like coach Dennerby did in Ghana the last time.

I am always on CSN to make sure Nigeria is moving forward not backward.

Many our world class coach Oga Rohr fans haven’t recovered from Oga Rohr departure but Oga Rohr is gone for good and for the betterment of Nigeria football. We wasted 6 years for nothing under our world best coach Oga Rohr. Amaju should be ready for another wotowoto.

My pikin Dr.Drey and his group, let’s wait and watch the Super Falcons till the end.

If the coach fails to impress then he have to go. Again, we the patriotic Nigerians will never allow the return of another Oga Rohr in the Super Falcons. Never. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

The truth still remains that oshola should go hang her boots or go meet her lover in Napoli. She wasn’t mentally in the game. Fringing injury every opportunity . Even rivers angel team would have beaten this bayana bayana. Well am no scared or worried. Nigeria will win the tournamant. South africa can buga all they want they weren’t impressive either
