Lossl Not Giving Up Yet

Huddersfield keeper Jonas Lossl says the squad has bought into new boss Jan Siewert’s ideas and they’re not giving up on survival yet.

The Terriers appear destined for relegation this season given they are bottom of the table and 13 points adrift of safety, with just 13 games to play.

Siewert has the toughest job out of all the struggling teams to try and somehow turn things around but, despite their perilous position, Lossl says there is still hope.

He has been impressed with Siewert’s positivity since he was brought in and insists no-one is throwing the towel in yet.

He said: “The new head coach has come in with a big bunch of energy, which has affected the team. He has new ideas, took us to Portugal and everyone is together believing we can stay up.

“In every single one of these games we have a chance. We will fight together and know we need points. The squad, the lads, the club and the support we get makes me believe we can stay up.”

Town host top-four hopefuls Arsenal on Saturday and Lossl is targeting a shock win to kickstart their season.

He added: “A clean sheet against Arsenal would be fantastic but three points will mean more. We really need those three points sooner rather than later. We need to get into a period of wins.”
