Former West Ham United forward Paolo Di Canio has told Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku that he would not start for Inter Milan this season
The Belgian, who left the Italian champions in the summer, has struggled on his return to the Premier League.
The 28-year-old has five goals in 17 league games, and was benched for the Carabao Cup Final loss to Liverpool on Sunday.
“He’d be very expensive considering that he’d be a reserve in this Inter side,” Di Canio told Sky Sport Italia of Lukaku returning to Inter at the end of the season.
“Inter have a different playing style, with more quality and a striker [Edin Dzeko] almost playing as an attacking midfielder.
“Lukaku doesn’t have this quality.”
