Manchester United Agree Terms With Ighalo

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Odion Ighalo on personal terms and salary over a six-month loan from Shanghai Shenhua, with an option to buy, according to Sky in Italy.

United are now in contact with the Chinese club to finalise the move.

Ighalo is in pre-season training with Shenhua, but the new Chinese Super League season has been delayed due to the escalation of the coronavirus.

A medical could be held in China, but United still face a race to complete a move before the 11pm deadline closes.

Tottenham also made their own late attempt to secure a loan deal for former Watford striker Ighalo on Deadline Day.

United earlier had a £20m bid for Bournemouth striker Joshua King rejected as the club target cover in the absence of the injured Marcus Rashford, but their pursuit of the Norway international appears to have ended.

The stone which the builder rejected has become the cornerstone. Congrats bro!!

Hehehehehe…..how the tables have turned. Whom God has blessed let no man curse.

It will be interesting to hear what all those evil people who hounded him into early retirement will say about this…..LMAO

    • Oda and Omon9ja are purely and squally responsible for our Ighalo early retirement from the National team.
They alone should do everything possible to bring Ighalo back to the fold.

Ighalo is still the best striker not only in Nigeria but in Africa as a whole today.

      • david 4 years ago

I’m not hating or anything but where does that leave aubameyang

  • ALL WE ARE SAYING…

    #BringBackIghaloToSE

    #BringBackMosesToSE

Lol. Happy for this dude. He was practically forced out of the SE. Resigned under pressure by some loud & unforgiving Nigerian fans. Maybe he and Moses would still be turning out for Rohr.

  • Chima Eligbue Samuels 4 years ago

No one is hating on Ighalo. As a Nigerian we ask for more from our players and if in big matches you blow chances away then you shouldn’t expect realistic fans to keep singing acapella with you. Anyway my remark about ighalo is same as Cardiff coach Neil warnock stated he’s very inconsistent and i think this is where the whole whole world will be able to judge Ighalo.

    • Where is Warnock and his Team today and, where is our Ighalo ? Where is Rohr that exhibited patience and cool head when the light got dull and eventually retained Ighalo that eventually catapulted Nigeria to the bronze medal in Africa’s Nations Cup last year?

    • Dr. Drey 4 years ago

Hihihiiihi….Barca, Man U, Tottenham and Inter Milan have already judged him with his all time career figure of 1 goal in every 2.4 games. That is why he is currently negotiating personal terms at with Man U at the moment despite playing in “fishermen’s” league in China…….even your village people cannot block this move…..If you like post 1 million videos of Isaac Success and Obafemi martins joined together on CSN. LMAO.

      • Dr. Drey 4 years ago

“I tried to sign Ighalo when I was at Cardiff. His salary was over six figures a week, £100,000, something like that. His agent tells you one thing, then the other,” Warnock told Sky Sports News.

This was the inconsistency Warnock was refering to, not goalscoring. Or how can a player who score 16 goals in 35 matches for his national team and has a career average of 1 goal in every 2.4 games be described as inconsistent….?

If we ask them to go and buy Macmillan primary english or NOEC now, they will say we are insulting them. It was only ratios I thought dey couldnt compute before, I never knew they cant comprehend English well too….LMAO

      • Chima E Samuels 4 years ago

Drey you are very ignorant come rain or sun Martins is a serial finisher and Ighalo is a serial misser. Martins had a very successful career with Inter, Newcastle, Birmingham where he scored in cup final and down to Germany and so on lighting each league with goals and medals. Ighalo is not a quality of the old Manchester this is just a new confused Manchester United.

        • Dr. Drey 4 years ago

Hehehehehe…..Mr Know it all, Mr I am the richest person in my village, Mr I am connected to top Football personalities, Mr I am living in a europe where I have access to free internet, Mr Issac Success is far better than Ighalo. Na you know football pass me…LMAO

Nor be the same China Ighalo and Martins dey play, Nor be the same Super Eagles dem play..? why Man Utd new confusion no make dem go sign Martins….??? LMAO

Even Intermilan and Tottenham too must be confused.

Winning trophies is a team effort that requires a player being in the right club at the right time, not individual effort. For all Micheal Owens goals for liverpool, that he never won the UCL with them still doesnt deny him his legendary status’. Okocha does not have the type of success kanu has at club level, but even Kanu respects pa Jay…it doesnt take away Okocha’s status as a legend

On an individual note martins was never top scorer in any of his clubs (stand to be corrected tho), league nor in AFCON nor did he ever hit a hattricks for the national team.

Cant you see that the more you are hating Ighalo, the more he is progressing…?

          Bloody hater…! Lolz

Dont worry God almighty knows how to disgrace people like you…LMAO

Ighalo no good ighalo nor good he is now the 1st Nigerian to ever play for Man Utd. Una go still drink rat poison wen time reach.

Odion has better career figures than Martins both at club level and international level #FACT….go erase am from FIFA records if e too pain you….LOLZ

The records say SHUT THE F’CK UP…..!!!

        • Mr Hush 4 years ago

          @Chima E Samuels

          Though I dont want to be dragged into fiasco due to the fact that everyone is due to their opinions and our opinions wouldn’t change the status quo but I dare have to ask some questions;
          For one;
What is the old Manchester United about?
You remember the same United have old signed an aging karel Poborsky,Larsson, same for Michael Owen and not forgetting a Falcao and yeah,Lee Grant too.
All these players came in to do a job. Some failed.some did that job.
          Why is Ighalo’s case different?!
What is the confusion in this new United when past precedent has shown that this is not the first time they are going down this route.
In fact Manchester United have always done business in January this way (even if they hate to) ; especially when they are in desperate times.
We should understand not all desperation leads to confusion and not all desperation are done out of negativity or from a confused state.
Desperation sometimes shows a Man that seeks success at any cost cause they know their worth and dont like the position they are in,so they seek desperate measures to fix that anomaly. Short term or not. Some great plans are fixed during desperate times. Desperate time needs desperate measures. Heck,D-day was a desperate act but one that led to the end world war two.
          It is what it is.
This is the case of Manchester United.
You as an outsider would read it differently but they within know what they seek and why they seek it. At the end ,time would justify .

Most might not have forgiven Ighalo for his world cup miss against Argentina.most might but believe in the man.
But when time is reading out the records,Ighalo’s record would always stand tall..

Let’s give him a break and see how it turns out.

For what is worth; we should support him on the notion he is Nigerian, not for anything or such but for future reference. If he does well, which I hope,it might start a chain reaction, you never know how that would increase the value of the Nigerian player in the eyes of the world.
We need good publicity right now more than ever and this is one..

          • GLORY 4 years ago

Bless you @Hush. I honestly don’t like reading people comparing players. Every player has his own unique qualities that may apply better than others in certain game plan. That doesn’t mean he is better as a footballer than the other whose qualities might be useful in some other game plan. Ighalo has always being a great player and will definitely not disappoint at MAN UTD period.

  • Dr. Drey 4 years ago

Hihihihihihi….they have started crawling out of their holes one-by-one…with tails between their legs and sunshades in the midnight….denying what has been obvious about them for years now, as if we are kindergartens here. LMAO The “everyone is better than ighalo” gang……They know themselves. Lolz

  • Yusuf 4 years ago

He has been signed. Just waiting for official announcement. Thank me later

  • Mr Hush 4 years ago

    Congratulations to Odion Ighalo..
He has done well for himself.
His hardwork down the years has finally paid off.
There is nothing bigger than this.
To think the biggest came looking for you in your privacy in Virus infected China, shows how much they value you.
    Quality don’t hide.

Now go enjoy yourself, score goals, you got nothing to lose but everything to gain.
    .well done again…

YEEEEEEEEEES! I was hoping this deal will happen. Delighted for Ighalo. Game recognize game. Solksjaer himself was a top striker in his playing days. Very smart signing by Man United. Ighalo will bring goals. Even when he isn’t scoring, he can play with his back to goal, help with keeping possession, create chances for others, and combine with the likes of Rashford, Martial and Lingard. A big congrats to the Ighalo family. I look forward to watching Odion SCATTER the premier league with GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAALSSSSSSS!

    • Dr. Drey 4 years ago

At least 5 goals sure from the remaining 14 games in the league before the end of the season, and with Man U still in the running for the Europa cup, there’s more than enough to expect from the best striker in the whole of Africa 2019.

  • Edoman 4 years ago

To bring Odion Ighalo back to play for Nigeria again, Rohr should make him the Captain of the national team. That may tempt him to change him mind. Nigeria can not afford to miss him.

    • Abdul 4 years ago

ah ah…..nawa o. Just congratulate this guy and wish him well. That he just joined Man utd to temporarily anchor the team’s attack doesn’t mean he should be brought back to the eagles. He’s a great player and we are proud of him he made such move at this time of his career.

    • @Edoman, I know you like to support your brothers.. Ighalo too replaced Yakubu so let Osimhen and Maja replace him after all, they are both your brothers too. Then with Dessers.

Come to think of it, Ighalo’s pictures in all media platforms in Europe announcing his transfer to Man Utd are in Nigerian jerseys. This further shows how the international media recognise his commitments to the Nigerian team. However, some people don’t want to see him in that jersey no matter what. You like it or not, he is a Nigerian and African legend. He is also the first Nigerian Man Utd player.
    God bless Nigeria

  • Nigerians like to rush things sha. he has not even trained with the squad, there are already calls for SE. Ditto Victor Moses. What happened to seeing how he performs? Whether he is interested?

No, he is signed to a big club he must rejoin the Super Eagles. No talk of performance, no talk of form, no talk of goal scoring or appearances, he has only worn the jersey and has not even sat on the bench yet
