Spurs Fail In Late Bid For Ighalo

Tottenham Hotspur have failed with a bid to sign former Nigeria international Odion Ighalo on a six-month loan, Completesports.com reports.

According to talkSPORT, Spurs made a bid to sign Ighalo on a six-month loan deal, however the move was knocked back by the Chinese Super League club.

Ighalo, 30, is also heavily linked with a late move to Manchester United.

Both Spurs and United are desperate to sign a striker before the transfer window slams shut at 11pm on Friday night.

Spurs are without the injured Harry Kane for at least three months, while United are looking for a replacement for Marcus Rashford, who will be out for a similar length of time.

Former Watford striker, Ighalo, is reportedly keen on a return to the Premier League amid interest from the two ‘big six’ clubs.

However, Ighalo could still move to England on deadline day, with Manchester United locked in talks to bring the striker to Old Trafford until the end of the season.

The Red Devils failed with a late bid to sign Bournemouth striker Josh King.

    Great news for Ighalo..
Manchester United have reached an agreement with his club..
Seems Odion is heading back to the premiership..
    Big time…

This time last year, it was Barcelona that wanted Odion, only for the young man to turn down the move because he needed a long term contract to secure his future, in addition to not wanting to be in a club where the management refused to guarantee him a 1st team spot with the AFCON (where he later ended up as top scorer) in the horizon.

A year after that, its the top 6 of England that wants him.

There must be something these people are seeing in Ighalo that the “Issac success if FAR BETTER than ighalo” crew are not seeing.

A prophet indeed has no honour in his homeland.

    @Drey

    Lol …
    Satirical as always.

We might not see it or appreciate it, but Ighalo is experienced enough to be appreciated by these big clubs.
The fact is, he put in the work and the number are there to prove it..

I hope this deal comes to fruition, so he could get to do what he knows how to do best..score goals.even if it is in short time..

At least, let us finally get a Nigerian to play for Man U. Ahaa…?! Its long overdue na….not just because he is an ‘ex-international’, but because his hardwork and stats over the years shows he’s competent enough to earn it. A career figure of 1 goal in every 2.4 games looks appealing to the eyes if you ask me

        Abi na…

There is no one that deserves it more than Ighalo.
To think Inter Milan wanted him too.they made an enquiry but it came too late.Ighalo already chose Man.united..

To have such great clubs lined up for him, shows how much they respect his quality and experience..

It is good sell for him and Nigeria at large.

Hopefully, it gets done and he gets to do well..

        Wish him all the best
