Manchester United Ready To Pay £84m For Osimhen

Premier League giants Manchester United are prepared to part with £84m in order to secure the services of Victor Osimhen from Napoli this summer, according to reports.

The 23-year-old has been in strong form for Napoli during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 16 times and registering five assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.

According to La Repubblica, the Red Devils are prepared to pay £84m to get a deal for Osimhen over the line in the summer.

The Nigeria international has also been linked with a move to Arsenal and Newcastle United.

With Erik ten Hag having agreed to leave Ajax for Old Trafford, a rebuild will now take place where numerous positions in the first-team group are strengthened.

While central midfield is believed to be the priority, United will also sign at least one new central forward, potentially two if Cristiano Ronaldo departs the club.

Osimhen is seen as the ideal striker for the team going by his impressive displays for Napoli and previous club Lille.

United have relied heavily on Ronaldo for goals this season and his arrival could help soften the burden on the Portugal captain.

Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda according to report, has also held talks with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis and sporting director Cristiano Guintolli over a possible move this summer.

the Epl is osimhen’s home, they play his style of football, he’s definitely going to thrive and prove doubters wrong, those who blame him and not his teammates for his not so impressive goal return

  • Italian league? That’s why it will take years before they can smell champions league again.
Same way Juventus sold Ronaldo thinking that he was their problem back then, now they’ve become ordinary. who even care about Napoli if not for our boy that’s there. Abeg carry go where we go dey see you Wella jor. If Yakubu, Ighalo and Now Dennis can perform in premiership, you will become Next Drogba there.

  • Osihme will be better off in EPL than starve to death club where He is now.

My brother i always feel like shedding tears every match, especially insigne and anguisa, e be like beef, the last match before empoli got their third goal, anguisa had the chance to give osimhen the easiest through pass you would ever see on planet earth, my g decided to pass to a dummy in the wings, dem don force osimhen to dey go wings, baba don turn winger, any small thing, they, including nigerians would say he’s not technical enough.

Napoli is a funny team. The defence and midfield keep paasing the ball to themselves while Osimhen is waiting in the box surrounded by 3 defenders. Its such a frustration for an attacker

Man United or Arsenal will be good for Osimhen.
Egbon Insigne wants to win ballon d’or and golden boot, so sorry folks. No time to pass to Osimhen!
He was starved of assists at Napoli. That won’t happen at Man United or Arsenal. And the frenetic pace of English football fits him like a glove. He will be right at home in the EPL.

  • Good striker, he still get ceiling. EPL go do am a world of good, Napoli na stunted growth.

Just a question from the peanut gallery :), is Osimhen really 23?

    • @HJK, he might not be 23 really. He might not be, but from His look, one can easily deduce that oshime real age is not far from that 23, unlike some that have clocked 40 already but still claiming 22.

If OSI is way above thirty He can never be running like that for entire 90min on the pitch

      • From his looks, he should be in his late 20s. Definitely he hasn’t crossed the 30s line.

Osimhen will admirably excel in the Premier League. Manchester or London, it doesn’t matter, he will be okay.
