Nikita Mazepin is set to drive for Mercedes when they take to the track in Barcelona for in-season testing this week.
The 20-year-old was on the books of Force India but he left the team after they were bought out by Racing Point last season.
He finished runner-up in the final season of GP3 last year after winning four races but he sits 16th in the standings after six races of the 2019 F2 campaign.

Mazepin has been conducting a private testing programme this year in a 2017 Mercedes and will get the chance to hit the track on their new car on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Meanwhile, fellow F2 driver Sergio Sette Camara will make his testing debut on Wednesday for McLaren.
Callum Ilott will make his debut on Tuesday with Alfa Romeo, while Antonio Fuoco is driving at Ferrari.
