Schalke face an anxious wait on Weston McKennie after he suffered an ankle injury while on international duty with the USA.
The midfielder sustained the blow as he landed awkwardly in the 67th minute of the USA’s 1-0 win over Ecuador on Thursday night.

The US medical staff have ruled out a broken bone but the injury could still see McKennie sidelined for a significant spell, with Schalke waiting to find out the full extent of the problem.
Schalke are battling against the drop in the Bundesliga and sit in 15th spot, just three points above Stuttgart in the relegation play-off spot.
McKennie, 20, looks set to miss the trip to Hannover in the next round of fixtures as the USMNT say he has sustained a severe sprain and ligament damage, and it remains to be seen if he will play again this season.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
