Media Officer: Why Iheanacho Is Yet To Arrive Super Eagles Camp

Media officer of the Super Eagles Babafemi Raji has given the reason why in-form striker Kelechi Iheanacho is yet to arrive camp, ahead of the 2021 AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic and Lesotho.

Currently, there are 23 players in the team’s Eko Hotel and Suite camp with Iheanacho the only player still being expected.

And speaking on Brila FM, Raji revealed Iheanacho is yet to arrive camp due to flight mixup but will join his teammates on Wednesday morning.

“Iheanacho will join his teammates this morning,” Raji said.

“There was a little mixup in his flight itinerary which delayed his arrival.”

Iheanacho has been in top scoring form after netting a brace and assist as Leicester City beat Manchester United 3-1 in the quarter-finals of the Emirates FA Cup at the weekend.

The Eagles had their first training session on Tuesday evening at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

They will travel to Cotonou on Friday for Saturday’s clash against Benin Republic.
The players and their officials will travel by waterways to Cotonou on Friday morning, and will spend the night in the Beninoise capital, Cotonou before moving to Porto Novo on Saturday for the game.

The contingent will return to Cotonou after the game and travel back to Lagos on Sunday morning to prepare for the tie against Lesotho on Tuesday.

He could have moved together with Ndidi

Smile… Hope this form he is into now has not gotten into his head o.

I don’t understand this kind of attitude from iheanacho, what kind of flight mixed-up is that? He is in the the same club with Ndidi and Ndidi has been around as early as possible.

In few months time now some players will sit up because by then FIFA would have cleared the likes of Lookman,Ejaria and Michael Olise would have secured his Nigerian passport..

Those players who are not sitting up should better sit up because there are so many players who with their performances are knocking on the door…

Probably waiting for the Red-carpet due to the recent good form he’s had. He will be shocked Oshimen will start ahead of him and still score that day.

Why are some people so impossible; who told you NFF bought the same ticket that will put him and Ndidi on the same flight and travel itinerary. Ignorance is oozing here. If you have ever travelled and had flight delays and the airline puts you in a hotel not too far from the airport (not all times, as you have to wait in the airport for hours at times with some irresponsible airlines), i am sure you will be able to relate with this. Abeg, make we no just dey comment because we get data. These guys also need the national team more than the national team needs them.
      I come in peace.
