Mikel Confident Boro’s Win Vs Hull Can Spur Playoff Finish

Nigerian midfielder Mikel Obi admits that Middlesbrough’s 1-0 win against Hull City can be of a big boost to their chances of reaching the playoff with four games to go reports Completesports.com.
Britt Assombalonga grabbed the match winner for Middlesbrough to end their six game winless streak in the English Championship.
The Teessiders had to dig deep in the late stages, with Mikel himself in the right place at the right time to clear one off the line.
“I think the first half was a really good game,” Mikel told Middlesbrough’s official website after the game.
“Maybe we could have killed it with one or two more goals.
“But we had to dig deep, it was one of those where we we didn’t play really well but the guys put in a shift and we got the three points.”
Mikel has made 14 appearances for Tony Pulis’ side since he joined in February on a free this season.

I must salute Mikel’s artistry in boro’s midfield. But it’s important for Mikel to state his position about the national team – the super eagles. I was expecting that this would be Mikel’s last nation’s cup and tournament for Nigeria and he should have been plotting as the captain to win the cup a second time but he seem not to be showing any signs towards that. In 2006,okocha was part of the national team and was on the bench with injury which was his last tournament for Nigeria.so Mikel should state his stand on this issue. It’s about over 200 million people and their happiness and not about any internal issues Mikel may have with any one in the team.
