Mourinho’s AS Roma Interested In Kelechi Iheanacho

Mourinho’s AS Roma Interested In Kelechi Iheanacho

Roma want a response from Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham today, otherwise they’ll turn to alternatives, including Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho.

The Serie A club want Abraham, who has struggled to earn regular playing berth under Thomas Tuchel to replace Inter Milan bound Edin Dzeko.

The Giallorossi’s director of football Tiago Pinto held a meeting with Abraham and his entourage in London on Wednesday.

Pinto presented to the young striker the benefits of coming to the Stadio Olimpico.

Chelsea have already agreed the terms of the transfer at €40m, to be paid in five instalments, but the forward remains tempted by Arsenal.

According to Sky Sports, Roma will look to sign Iheanacho from Leicester City if Abraham does not give the all-clear on Friday (today).

The Nigeria international recently penned a contract extension to June 2024 with the Foxes.

He scored 19 goals and provided seven assists in 39 appearances across all competition for Brendan Rodgers’ side last season.

  • Please Nacho should not go to Roma o. Mourinho can kill people talent. Not just Mikel John Obi, who he converted to a defensive midfielder from an attacking one, because he couldn’t bench Lampard at the time. Plus the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Mohammed Salah and even Lukaku because of impatience

If you go, just be prepared to play at leftback. That’s my 50 kobo worth of advice to you.

  • Kelechi, Kelechi, Kelechi! How many times did I mention your name? Please. hang on to this little goals that you occasionally score at Leicester (Foxes) and make one finger pointing to the sky. Indeed, the entire world is satisfied with it. I promised you that no one is ever going to watch you with Mourinho at Roma. This is because you will never smell any goal there and it ends the one finger pointing. Good Luck with your decision and other family members who may not know anything about football but only targeting financial benefits for themselves.

    Please run away from Mourinho.

  • @ Ben on this, I beg to disagree with you. If this is true, then Nacho should make the move. Jose is one of the few European coaches that only cares about your quality disregarding your nationality or colour type. And Mourinho’s style founded on tactics instead of running/speed will suit Nacho.

    • @Glory. I agree with you. Eto scored goals under Mourinho. Essien played under Mourinho. Even Mikel. A coach like guardiola (a racist) would have benched Mikel then.

Mourinho is not like that. If nacho is scoring Mourinho will always keep him upfront.

You seem to have forgotten the grit and brawn mourinho always demands from his players…..both in attacking and in defending. Even Harry Kane the current god of English football worked his butt off while mourinho was at Tottenham.
Does Kelechi really look the type that can put in 150% on the pitch and fight hard the way Mou always expect his players to fight and shed their blood on the pitch…? Can Kele defend from the front or graft in the middle when it’s time to park the bus like Mourinho always grills his players to do…? I sincerely doubt.

Let’s be careful what we wish for this young man.
As much as I’m not comfortable with him still playing 2nd fiddle at LCFC, It would still do him a lot of good to remain there and be playing his senior man brand of football rather than go be converted to a left back at Mourinho’s Roma. You cant play senior man football with Mou. Even CR7 got defensive duties when he coached at Madrid back then. Lolz.
Moreover, he isn’t too patient with out of form players, unlike Rodgers who has probably the whole patience in the world.
When Mourinho leaves Roma, Nacho can go to Roma bikonu….. LMAOOo. On current form Roma is on almost same level as LCFC…. there’s no point rushing from certainty to uncertainty.

  • Mourinho isn’t a bad coach, he is just a result oriented person.

  • Iheanacho take this chance and take your game to the next level.

  • Kele self won’t try to change leceister for Roma now, what’s the different? Roma playing Europa just same as Leicester, plus who watch seria A? He shd just relax and continue making wave in England pls. He get why Abraham no want go now.

  • @Drey, Thank you for the reply. If it was a younger Odion Ighalo that was been fancied by Mourinho’s Roma, I would say by all means he should go, because Mourinho will make him Dangerous, he can adapt to his style. But not Nacho, Nacho really needs someone like Tuchel to give him tips and opportunities under a very watchful eyes. Even Osimhen will flourish with Mourinho. Nacho should just stay with LCFC for now and bag in more goals this season to build his confidence as a Forward.
