Moyes: West Ham Not Interested In Onuachu

West Ham United manager David Moyes has debunked reports that the Hammers are interested in signing Genk forward Paul Onuachu, reports Completesports.com.

Onuachu has been linked with a number of clubs in Europe after a remarkable for Belgian Pro League club Genk last season.

The Nigeria international scored scored 29 times in 33 league outings for the Smurfs last term.

This season, he has scored nine goals in 10 league games so far and one more goal each in the Champions League qualifiers and the Europa League.

“I don’t want to disappoint but he wasn’t someone who we really considered. Quite often at West Ham we are linked with so many players.,”Moyes told the media ahead of Thursday’s (today) Europa League clash against Genk.

“So I have to say there is not an awful lot of truth in it but I appreciate the player I have watched him play recently because we’re watching the games but I have to say he wasn’t one of the targets we had planned for the summer time.”

  • Welcome to reality guys…….when you say the truth in this part of the world u will be called names…….But one way or the other the truth always sets in…….No top5 club will pay 20+ million pounds on Onuachu post covid…….We like to lie to ourselves alot and doing the same thing expecting a different result……Genk must lower their asking price if they want onuachu to progress to a top5 league simple……All this media games are getting boring.

Go and pop champagne, you’ve won a lottery lol

      • @john…..pop Champaign for what……I want onuachu to progress to a top5 league more than you do but I frown at this Media games……..They link players to top teams for wealthy lower teams to pounce……it’s really disgusting to me……Even now international football players have started playing the game too……Call unto your second choice country in the media for the first choice country to pounce……Abraham did it and succeeded……Eze did it and almost succeeded….. recently Danjuma did it and succeeded……Very soon the world will associate media deceit to Nigeria and it is getting there already……Am tired of that game.

Even though I don’t agree with you I think this is an opportunity for Onuachu to prove to Moyes that he is the attacker for Westham. But today Ogbonnah will be placed on Onuachu and Ogbonnah is very strong. Onuachu will need to be the stronger of the two. Thats the opportunity he has and he must punish this coach for this statement as it’s an attempt to get into the head of the attacker. Onuachu, go there and show them what Osimen showed Rudgers.

Nobody should interview atletico Madrid, borrusia Dortmund, sampdoria coaches oooh. I don’t want some persons to develop high blood pressure oooo, which can lead to heart attack ooo. One of their best striker just return to NPFL. Nigeria strikers still remain
    Victor
    Desser
    Awoniyi
    Moffi
    Till further notice

Where’s @John-1 who believe that we hate Onuachu because we told him the truth and implored him to be realistic in his dreams. Just last night @John-1 nearly called us names because we tried to explain to him why Onuachu will not fit into B Dortmond, West Ham, Tottenham, A Madrid, Southampton playing style, plus when you consider his age at 28yrs too then non of these clubs mentioned will be ready for such a gamble

Some people on this forum just hate to hear the truth, I know the truth is bitter but we all need to hear it often for reality check

Look at these guys lol. Barcelona twice debunked Pierre Aubameyang’s rumor, does that make Aubameyang a bad player or low in quality?.
A coach can debunk a rumor for some reasons:
      1. To get a good bargain
      2. To impede suitors
      3. To prevent media hype

      • Case of average coach trying to make a good player look bad, west Ham is too low for Paul, you guys should watch Paulo move to a better club next season, wonder what this dude did to make you people hate him so much, good or bad he remain our own and we should encourage and wish him well.

Dr banks, I think u over underestimated him. Name d strikers in d clubs u have mentioned that will relegate him to B team. Being a second striker well, but B team is exaggeration. Apart from halland and Kane name one striker dt cld battle him in those clubs u have mentioned

Calling Moyes an average coach is delusional bro, you don’t qualify an EPL club for Europa group stage and currently topping the group if he’s indeed an average coach.

    • So you puting him in the league of elite manager right? As a player, the biggest club he play for was Celtic, now as coach apart from Everton he mange to qualify for 1 UCL in 2005-2006 season, tell me what he has achieve in his 19yrs of been soccer coach? Real sociedad fire him, Southampton fire him, Manchester United did the same, now because he manage to qualify west ham in 6th to Europa he has join the league of the elite manager? You funny dude.

To be relevant in current SE set up, Onwuachu will have to move to a better league. He’s won every individual awards in the Jupiter League. Unlike him, other SE strikers who can attack from position and any formation (Osi, Awo, Sadiq, Desser, Moffi).
Now, he is relying on PK which is not even working in its ways
