Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller is set to miss both legs of his club’s Champions League last-16 tie against Liverpool. The Germany international was given a two-match European ban after being sent off in December’s draw with Ajax in the group following a clash with Nicolas Tagliafico.

Muller has appealed against the decision but as it stands is set to miss the double-header against the Reds with the two sides scheduled to face each other at at Anfield on February 19 and in Munich on March 13.
The sending-off was the first of Muller’s career.
