‘My Players Gave Their All Against Eagles’ – Cape Verde Coach, Leitao Brito

Cape Verde head coach Pedro Leitao Brito a.k.a. Bubista, has expressed his satisfaction with his players despite their elimination in the race for the 2022 World Cup qualifying playoff.

The Blue Sharks needed to secure the three points to stand a chance of qualifying for the next round while a draw was a enough for the Eagles.

With just one minute on the clock, Cape Verde went behind through a Victor Osimhen goal.

But just five minutes later, Cape Verde equalized thanks to Stopira who slotted home a corner kick.

All efforts to get the decisive goal proved abortive as the Eagles held.

Despite failing to advance, Brito praised his players for giving their all.

“It was a tough game we did everything possible to win but unfortunately it didn’t happen,” he said after the game.

“My players gave their best and I’m happy with their performance. It is the game, that’s football for you.“

And what the future holds for his team:“We want to grow up in our football. It’s a small country but we have good players and we will surely be there.”

You gave us the run for our money and besides, you were a good training material bringing out some of our best. There is still room for your improvement, see you next time.

Bad belly coach? Not a single word of praise for Oga Rohr and his wads? At least we made 3 substitutions this time.

He was tactically better to be honest. Watch when they had the ball, moved with confidence which our players lack and their attack had much precision. A great coach…with the way they set up in the first half, they should have wrecked us.

What pained me the most was that they did not have any respect for Ighalo, they kept their defense to only 4 players no panick. If they had kept an extra player or attention on Ighalo, the SE would have finished them in the first half.

This comment is nothing but bad belle. Except for their goal, which resulted from a corner kick, they had no clear-cut chance for the entire duration. In contrast, eagles created number of clear-cut chances and their goalkeeper was decent too. Spread the love and not the hate bro.

        • God bless you Abdul. The likes of Coache and their bad belle are so much in this CSN Forum. Looking for inept Nigerians coaches to become Super Eagles handlers and local players to wear our National colours. Rohr is on his way to create history with Nigeria. Anyone that does not like it can jump in Lagos Lagoon.

Bless you bro..Spot on..Its the bribe collecting local coaches they want….Even Keshi despite his good record was accused of this….Look at Siasia for example…We no longer use calculators for permutations…I still remember vividly how we were turned into laughing stocks after we coudnt even qualify to defend the subsequent Afcon after winning it in 2013…You sometimes owe this guy his salary yet he is loyal….He might have his flaws, but he is still doing a good job….Ivory, South Africa and the likes coudnt even qualify…..And dont forget how their African Guardiola left us for dead after causing unnecessary issue with Enyeama…Nigerian coaches are either not good enough or their morals are questionable…If at anytime we deem Rohr to have hit a ceiling and cannot take us forward, we need to get an even better Foreign coach…

I wonder when Nigerian fans will drop this toga of arrogance to think Nigeria must always crush all supposedly ‘small’ team. In world football, the game has improved tremendously and no team is a pushover anymore.
Moreover, being a small country means that Cape Verde could easily pick their team without sentiments whereas Nigeria will be looking for Federal character in everything. Praise the boys joor. You’ll be surprised when we face a stiffer opposition as that usually bring our the best in us
