Napoli manager Luciano Spalleti has compared Victor Osimhen to former AC Milan strikers George Weah and Marco van Basten, reports Completesports.com.
Osimhen has earned plaudits for his impressive displays for the Partenopei this season.
The 22-year-old has scored nine goals in 12 appearances across all competitions for Napoli this term.

Weah and Van Basten are two of the greatest strikers to have played the game and Spalleti stated that the Nigeria international have what it takes to reach the level of the two legends.
“He is similar to Weah, probably not as strong technically, but with the same quality. He also reminds me of Van Basten. Osimhen is young and he can reach those levels,” Spalletti was quoted by Football Italia.
The forward is expected to return to action for the Blues on Sunday after missing their last two games due to injury.

Osimhen is simply phenomenal and if I have my wish, I would rather rate him above those two putting their ages into consideration. He is 22 years with playing time at his neck and call.

Osimhen has alot of potentials yet untapped by Spalleti and Osimhen himself…… Osimhen’s pace is unbelievable…..he virtually runs rings around other players in SerieA……He has a devastating pace for a six foot plus dude……He also has a very nice footwork and dribbling skills……Spalleti should encourage Napoli players to always look for Osimhen on the pitch……Napoli players should always knock the ball into space and leave the rest to Osimhen to handle……. Spalleti should also encourage osimhen to calm down when gifted with scoring opportunities……In some cases he would have even rounded the goalkeeper and still have enough space and time to find the net before the closest defender to him gets there but he panicked and tried to place the goalkeeper which the goalkeeper saved……. Spalleti should encourage Napoli players to always float crosses into the area as no defender in SerieA can match osimhen’s leap and aeriel ability……This are my observation.

Spalleti has never been selfish with words but Osimhen is generous with many advisers- good product can’t be stepped upon… Being prolific at the goal mouth area, I knew it wouldn’t take Osimhen long to rule our remaining hearts as he has eventually turned into pages of an interesting book. Guy, like Marco and Drogba, no turning back, fire the goals from all cylinders to Nigeria’s glory. Thanks to the Nigerian Institute of Sports and other stakeholders for putting in place a youth development programme that made it possible for the likes of Osimhen to pass through the process.
