Napoli Boss Spalletti Points Out Areas ‘Top Player’ Osimhen Must Improve

Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti has revealed areas forward Victor Osimhen needs to improve, reports Completesports.com.

The Partenopei kept their Scudetto dreams alive courtesy of a 2-1 win against Hellas Verona on Sunday.

Osimhen scored both goals after throw-ins caught Hellas napping, first with a header and then a tap-in from six yards.

Although he is Napoli’s top scorer this season, Spalletti believes Osimhen is still a long way off the finished article.

“Osimhen still doesn’t realise the distance from his marker, sometimes he runs towards the ball and has the time and space to control, pick his spot. He doesn’t need to rush,” the Italian told DAZN after the game.

“He can start a run from midfield, take on four or five defenders by himself with that pace, so he has such potential.”

“Osimhen is a top player with everything on his side. He’s young, he’s a good lad, he can be a bit too enthusiastic and gives his all.

“When we are talking about timing, movement, the dummy on a defender to change direction, these are the areas where he needs to improve.”

The 25-year-old has scored nine goals in 19 league appearances for the Blues this season.

What a gaff! This guy is not yet 25–printer’s devil, maybe.

Just unleash half of your devastating potential on BSs; Kelechi will step in and bury them.

The message is noted for whom is concerned and in this wise, Osimhen remains our key against GH.

In terms of finishing. I think Ihenacho is the best sticker in Leicester and SE. I’m thinking Egu starting him against Ghana while Osihem comes in from the bench. Iheanacho is not a number 10 so we should stop playing him there. He has a very limited range of passing to be a number 10.His Best position without altering the balance of the team is therefore number 9.Aribo or iwobi can play 10

Use iheanacho as a supporting striker to Osimhen. He can easily drop back, supply assist and mop up the second balls.

Fluke player are mostly on the bench. No coach plays starts such a warmer in an all important match like a World cup decider. Iheanacho himself knows he’s warming the bench but he could be needed to assist in friendlies especially.

Ha ha ha ha Osimhen or Iheanacho??? Ha ha ha ha ha to start against the Black Stars??? You must be high on something.
If not for federal character, Iheanacho should’ve been on the standby list. He is good at assisting tho.

No doubt Osimhem is our Top9…
Iheanacho main problem is, he lacks confidence while with the ball and can barely trap when it is needed most. We all saw what happened in the recent Afcon. Playing him against the Black Stars will be a bit risky since the SE main strickers are available.

Osihmen can also improve if Napoli forwards give him more passes……

  • Thank @igbekun Abo, osi can improve in this and that, what about the Napoli team mate improving on how they feed OSI with good passes. Oshimen doesn’t work like this whenever he play for se and yet goals use to come.

If a player like onuachu should play for Napoli, coach spaleti you will leave that guy to rot on the bench because he will be starved to death by your selfish players.

  • When will you start talking about how your team and players can improve so that Osimhen can constantly get the service he needs to work on his game?
Yes he needs to work on his timing, yes his movement needs work, yes he needs to work on his finishing but how will he work on them if the players who are supposed to help him, keep holding on to the ball instead of releasing it when he about to make a move.

He already said that in the past. Arrigo Sacci also echoed same last week. Osimhen must improve to become a great player
