Amidst uncertainty over the elective Congress of the Nigeria Football Federation slated for Benin City, former Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Mahmoud Shinkafi has urged delegates to elect Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau as the next president of the NFF for the growth of football in the country, Completesports.com reports
Shinkafi described Alhaji Gusau who is the Chairman of Chairmen in the current executive board of the NFF and also the chairman of Zamfara State FA as a team player and goal-getter with the capacity and competence to take over as president from Amaju Pinnick
“Ibrahim Gusau was my Special Assistant on Sports when I was governor and his ability to connect with everyone and deliver assignments effectively endeared him to the government and people of Zamfara. He is a team player, humble and energetic. He is the man who will not only unify the football family but ensure that our lost glory in football returns,” Shinkafi remarked.

“I know he has what it takes to unite stakeholders and has the capacity and competence to administer the game better, and above all, he is transparent. He has a listening ear and carries everyone along in the management of the game. I want to use this opportunity to appeal to delegates to vote him as the next president of NFF and he will deliver,” the ex-Governor submitted.
Also speaking on the NFF presidency, Chairman of Katsina State Football Association, Alhaji Balele Kurfi, described Gusau as a jolly good fellow who is very knowledgeable and a committed football administrator
“I have known Ibrahim for over 20 years within the football circles and I can vouch for his transparency and accountability. I know he is capable of delivering dividends of football by getting the game out of the woods. I like him because of the way he was able to coordinate the Chairmen of State football associations these past eight years,” Kurfi stated.
“Having done so well as Chairman of Chairmen and in various committees of CAF that he served, managing NFF will not be too much for him to handle. His experience and exposure will benefit our football and I endorse him.”

Enough of politicians running our football. We want an ex footballer this time.We want to move with the tide in world football. We are tired of going back and forth.
Let us give football to those who lived by football and see what they will do differently to advance Nigeria football.I believe they will do better.
