NFF Gets Monday Deadline To Submit Technical Report Of Super Eagles’ World Cup Qualifiers

The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development Alhaji Ismail Abubakar has directed the NFF to submit the Technical Report of the Super Eagles’ last phase of the 2021 World Cup qualifiers to the Ministry.

“The report must be on the table of the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development on Monday, the 22nd of November, 2021,” the Permanent Secretary says Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar said in a statement.

The Super Eagles have qualified for the playoff phase of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Africa but the performance of the team has left a lot to be desired with many Nigerians calling for team gaffer, Gernot Rohr, to be shown the exit door.

Nigeria incredibly lost to Central Africa Republic, one of the lowest ranked teams in the world at the Teslim Balogun stadium last month, a new low for the three-time Africa Cup of Nations winners albeit they bounced back to win the reverse fixture in Cameroun barely a week later.

The laboured and unispiring performance against Cape Verde last Tuesday in Lagos seems to be the last straw that has broken Rohr’s back.

Meanwhile a top Sports Ministry source said, “The NFF knows that any plan to hire another coach must start with first briefing the Minister /Federal Government about the Rohr issue and bringing a closure to it to avoid embarrassing Nigeria.

“Secondly. The decision to hire any body as national coach must be discussed and undergo review.

“The Super Eagles is Nigeria’s property not a premier club.”

What is keeping the nff from sacking this coach, the eagles don’t even have pattern of play no player has improve individually,i beg make una sack am fast fast

  • Sports Minister Dare should tread carefully on this matter and let NFF handle take the lead, so we don’t attract FIFA’s axe on the basis of government interference in the running of football. FIFA has always insisted on the independence of FAs. We shouldn’t kill a fly with a sledgehammer.

If we get banned. FIFA won’t hesitate to upgrade CAR as the group’s winner. That was how we carelessly fielded Shehu Abdullahi away against Alegria and automatically lost 3 points. If we had won the group with fewer points, Zambia would have instead nicked the ticket for Russia 2018.

Ministry of Sports is getting carried away forgetting that FIFA statutes forbid government interference in national football associations

@Kel ; I don’t know why Sports Minister is wasting his valuable time on submission of shameful report that everyone that are knowledgeable in football ⚽️ already knew and rightfully concluded that Rohr was never a coach , but a disastrous scam .

    The mechanic a.k.a Belmadi’s trainee should not be sacked if he refused to resign honourably because of the fraudulent $2m severance clause in his fraudulent contract made with his business partner NFF; NFF should rather demote him without having a say in the players call up and made to work under competent coach without salary;

Once his power to determine players call up is removed, and salary is not paid, he can’t survive because no any unmerited player like Saudi retired flopped Igahalo will waste his money to bribe Rohr ; with no one also be available for him to compromised his allowance as 6 months inactive and Eyimba benched warming goalkeeper John Noble then Rohr will be frustrated out to resign himself.

As far FIFA sanction , please forget , there can never be a sanction for sacking a man that scammed a whole country in conspiracy with his business partner NFF for 6 years of unending mediocrity.

In May 2009 ordinary local club in Africa Etoile Sahel of Tunisia sacked Rohr having discovered he was a scam , but his second home country France had erroneous impression that he was unfairly treated in Africa and a second division club (FC Nantes ) decided to sign 3 years contract with Rohr as purported club Head coach , but just 6 months on the job, and 2& half years to the expiration of his 3 years contract , when the club management discovered Rohr was a scam and not a coach , he was fired (there was no sanction from FIFA); having been exposed; Rohr dares not make attempt to scam his European people but founded African countries easy target of his scam ; this time, he carried his luck too far

In December 2015, Just 10 months as Burkina Faso purported coach Rohr was summarily sacked having discovered he was a scam ( No FIFA Ban ) ; that was after Rohr had been previously advised in Niger to honourably resigned having been discovered by the Niger Sports officials and Sports Minister that Rohr was a scam with his disastrous records of loosing 13 games !!! just in 23 matches with 3 ( THREE) wins; it was a nightmarish for the fans of and the entire people of Niger . ( All the afore mentioned sacking 6 months and 10 months on the job , there was no FIFA ban , because even FIFA already aware of Rohr’s real status as mere quack)

But for gold medallist in corruption; Rohr wouldn’t have come near CHAN Eagles as assistant coach, let alone being the longest ever serving coach of Super eagles for 6 years running .

As a matter of fact, if Rohr is probed , I can tell you, he would ended up being a looser , as he would be made to cough out all the unmerited Nigerian tax payers money he has been collecting for 6 years running.

6 yeas total waste ….. what a country!!!

@De Star… This your tonic is enough to make me have a smooth sleep. My brother you are full of hate for rohr, y. If u are tried d way this man is tried in a foreign land what will you say. Back to the topic, you called him a fraudster. Name one player that have accuse him of bribery before selection, name anybody that have accuse him of bribery, name one target they gave him that he fail to deliver. Because an employer is being access by d ability to accomplish target set for him, Olise was that good why did he fully ten percent of his target, and why did he run away. Name one target siasia accomplished as senior team coach. I hope to hear from you

A fraudster that qualify 2018 world from group which include Cameroon, Zambia and Algeria. A fraudster that qualify us for next year nations cup with three games to spare. A fraudster that always have full players on ground despite NFF holding them more than nine months match bonus. A fraudster which no player has ever accused him of bribery, playing before selection. Oga fear God oooo, do u mean to tell me he is the worst coach in Nigeria. With all the beautiful soccer siasia player how many tournament did he qualify for as super eagles coach. Just as we lost one game before siasia taking over that is how rohr lost one game in 2018 world qualifies and draw one but will still top the group with point difference. We also lost to south Africa in our opening nations cup qualifier, still we top the group the point difference. This concluded world cup stage qualifiers, the man lost one and draw one match each but will still top d group with point differences. Olise ran away when he cannot manage d situation. We complain d man is not playing attractive football, when your attackers are not scoring what do u what him to do, tell me. Against central Africa republic at home, a lot of goal opportunity was created but awoniyi, osimeh fail to covert them, is it d coach fault. My brother be watchful of what you wish to others because they may one day come back to haunt you.

Thanks so much for this contribution. Your players not able to take advantage of their chances to score goals is not the fault if any coach. Don’t blame the coach for not beating Cape Verde silly. Your players were naive in front of goal…. after all, the coach brought in some of the best legs you could think of based on form. I don’t really see what or where he has gone wrong. He only needed better technical and tactile assistance but our ver corrupt system couldn’t afford it but then, this man worked under a very difficult terrain in Nigeria. I can hardly find a coach that will accept to work like Rhor did. He was a Nigerian hero considering the fact that he performed where even Nigerian coaches failed us…

Please, let us thread carefully on this matter. Stop this derogation of his character. It’s not a Nigerian way of showing appreciation

  • Leave them even if you to relieve someone of his job there is no basis for all this derogatory statement from most of them. Those concern should do the needful and let him go. We have seen clubs and countries sacked coach and they will still pen an emotional message by thanking him for his time and wish him well in future endeavours but here is different see fans saying what ought not to have said to a man doing is work jejely as if they are not working somewhere too. I think Nigeria deserve the kind of treatment melted to us by Olishe then.
