NFF To Unveil New Super Eagles Coach In April

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, is making hay to hire a replacement for Jose Peseiro as Super Eagles Head Coach in April following the departure of the Portuguese at the expiration of his contract, Completesports.com can exclusively report.

Over 20 coaches within and outside Nigeria have indicated their interest in the job since the NFF declared the post vacant and called for applications from interested football coaches.

Feelers from the secretariat of the NFF in Abuja revealed that applications for the Head Coach of the Super Eagles have been pouring in torrents from a good number of Nigerian coaches and their foreign counterparts.

“NFF wants the best for Nigerian football and will go all out to ensure that they get it by hiring only the person who will take the Super Eagles to the highest level. The World Cup qualifiers will be coming in another three months and we cannot afford to make a mistake in our choice of a coach at this point,” an impeccable source source told Completesports.com on condition of anonymity.

“We want to improve on the recent good run of form by the Super Eagles and whoever gets the job must be ready to hit the ground running. So whoever gets the job must be someone who knows the enormity of the job and must have the managerial expertise and experience to handle our star-studded team.”

Our source declined disclosure of the actual number of coaches that have applied for the job but revealed that top indigenous and foreign coaches have been applying for the plum job daily, adding that the NFF will hasten the selection process and ensure that the coach is unveiled in April to enable him to settle in before the World Cup qualifiers resume.

Our source also disclosed that the coach who gets the job is expected to pick his two assistants and possibly the goalkeepers trainer. According to the source, this is to ensure that there are no rancour or philosophical differences between the Head Coach and his assistants.

A COUNTRY THAT IS NOT EVEN NEAR TO BE CALL GIANT OF AFRICA DOESN’T WASTE TIME IN EMPLOYING/APPOINTING A NEW COACH. IN LAST AFCON, GHANA, IVORY COAST, S/AFRICA FUMBLED, THEIR COACH WAS SACKED AND THEY EMPLOY A NEW COACH IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT WASTING TIME.
IN THIS YEAR AFCON, ALGERIA FA SACKED THEIR COACH & THEY EMPLOYED A NEW COACH WITHIN THREE WEEKS.
OUR NFF ALWAYS LIKE TO BE WASTING TIME IN EMPLOYING NEW COACH BECAUSE OF RIGGING, MANIPULATION & CORRUPTION.
*** IN THE AREA WHETHER TO EMPLOY INDIGENOUS OR FOREIGN COACH:
WHAT IS IMPORTANT MOST IS TO EMPLOY A COACH THAT WILL BE:
      1. RESPECTED BY PLAYERS & KNOW OUR
PLAYERS( both local & foreign) AND
      AFRICAN FOOTBALL
      2. SELF & HIGHLY DISCIPLINE
      3. NOT TOLERATED NONSENSE
      4. ALWAYS USE PRESENT FORM AS A
      YARDSTICK FOR PLAYERS INVITATION
      5. NOT USING EXPERIENCE/CAPTAINSHIP/LEADERSHIP(that
is not fit), EGO, OR SENIORITY IN
      PLAYERS SELECTION
      7. READY TO IMPOSE DISCIPLINE &
      COMMITMENT(with characters)INTO
      THE TEAM.
      8. READY NOT TO WORSHIP ANY PLAYERS &
      NOT BE INDISPENSABLE OF ANY
      PLAYERS
      9. HE SHOULD READY TO SEARCH FOR
      PLAYERS ANYWHERE & NOT USE
      SENTIMENT OR FAVOURISM IN
      INVITING/SELECTING PLAYERS
      10. HE SHOULD BE UPDATED & UP-TO-DATE
      IN FOOTBALL TACTICAL
      11. HE SHOULD STAND FIRM & NOT ALLOW
      ANYBODY TO BE CONTROLLING OR
      DICTATING TO HIM.
      12. HE SHOULD READY TO WORK WITH HIS
      TECHNICAL CREWS

Who will pay the coaches you’re mentioning??

    • @Papafem you are the one that will pay them from your Personal account?.. HABA! or maybe they should use the $4.5million they earned from AFCON to pay for a suitable coach to lead a bunch of Talented Players in our Golden Generation.. Of all times this is when they should afford us this present of a top coach at least in this period til the likes of Osimhen, Ndidi Boniface and co Retire

Have you now become Devils Advocate for the most Corrupt FA in the World?…

Please dont ask such questions it is not our job to concern ourself with such it should be mandatory that an FA of a country that claims to be GIANT of Africa can afford a TOP Coach. If we can’t then we have no buinsess calling ourself that.

A serious football federation will definitely know 3 or 2 top coaches ready to hit the ground running not this try and luck jamboree applications and taking time procession! The new coaches have better been in place now and use these two friendly matches to adjust and prepare properly but NFF ARE FULLV OF FAVOURITISM AND STARK INTOLERABLE INCOMPETENCY! Get AMUNEKE NOW TO PREPARE HIMSELF. Finidi as first assistant will be very crucial and vital or NFF better just appoint FINIDI and rest.. these are the two options ready to hit the ground running! Eguavoen is a recircled failure to be appointed now they better not waste the important nature of these friendly games oh… applications advertising is prove that NFF OFFICIALS ARE A COMPREHENSIVE JOKE.

  • I think what the Federation has done is in the right direction as they would need time for scrutiny. They must ensure no manipulation, hanky panky in the process of checking the past records of the applicants like Oliseh, Amuneke, Nsien, Okpala, Ogundede, and that the most qualified local coach is appointed.

    • Hey @Dele We do not need Local Coaches what don’t you get about that. If Nigeria Dominated World Cups and have at least 1 or 2 titles fine then this Local Coach Clamour is warranted but until then a European coach is better they understand the modern game better evident in thier Leagues and National team Dominance for decades

It’s now either Eguavoen, who’s the defacto Coach or Coach Finidi.

  • Just loook at that.. Defacto Coach ké? George Finidi has no FIFA coaching badge to coach a national football side, dey play. The best he gets is to be supervised by his employer, the Technical Director, NFF, shikena!
