The Flying Eagles, who are hoping to leapfrog Morocco to 1st group stage position, make 3 changes for Kenya clash.
High profile striker Kparobo is reinstated to the starting 11 with former Golden Eaglets sensational skipper Simon Cletus getting his first start in midfield. Anthony Kpangu has been picked ahead of Bidemi Amole in attack.
Match winner versus Tunisia Auwal Ibrahim ‘Germany’ and Israel Ayuma will be the destroyer-in-chief in midfielder, while Cletus will play the dual role of providing offensive spark and creative juice from the middle.
The four-man defence led by captain Daniel Bameyi remains intact as they are yet to concede a goal in two matches.
Kick-off time is 4 pm Nigerian time.
Flying Eagles Starting XI (4-3-3) – Ebenezer Harcourt – Odinaka Okoro, Adamu Maigari, Bameyi (Captain), Emmanuel Chukwu – Auwal Ibrahim Israel Ayuma, Simon Cletus – Jephta, Kparobo, Kpangu
This is the first game I’m watching from the U20 Afcon. My observation so far is that our weak link is the right back. Whoever the right back is offers nothing both on defense and attack. Also, we are just running up and down, no coordination, even ball control is lacking. I won’t be surprised if Kenya wins this game.
The team will be lucky to qualify for the U-20 world cup… the players are mostly below average… I am sure those invited clearly have paid sponsors behind them… I honestly do not know what department to praise in the team! If we make it to the world cup the team needs 95% overhauling…
