Nigeria’s Omolayo Wins Gold After Setting New Paralympic Record In Powerlifting 

Team Nigeria clinched their second gold medal at the on-going Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, thanks to Bose Omolayo who set a new games record on Sunday, Completesports.com reports.

Omolayo, competing in the women’s -79kg lifted 141kg to claim the gold medal in the event.

Her win means all four of Team Nigeria’s medals  (two gold and two bronze) have all come from powerlifting.

She now joins Latifat Tijani as the only Nigerian athletes who have won gold at the Tokyo games.

Olaitan Ibrahim and Lucy Ejike picked up the two bronze won so far by the country.

Team Nigeria now placed 24th on the medal table with China topping and are followed by Great Britain.

    But come to think of it, why and how is it that it is only Yorubas and Igbos who are doing this country proud both on the home front and international scenes and almost in every facet of life?

    From time immemorial even to the contemporary

    I’m I the only one seeing this?

    Even in Football, either males or females, either Senior or Junior categories, it’s always either Igbos or Yorubas. Just Why?

    Anyway, hearty congratulations to these medalist and all the Nigerian contingents
