Aspire FC coach, Chinedu Maduforo, has urged the organizers of the Nationwide League One (NLO) to step up their efforts and improve the quality officiating of the third tier Nigerian league, Completesports.com reports.
Maduforo who spoke to Completesports.com after his team defeated visiting Bussdor FC 2-0 in the NLO matchday-five game at the Awka City Stadium on Sunday, challenged the league organisers to ensure that match officers do their job without fear or favour.
“They should support the referees so that when they go to match venues, they will strive to do well. The referees are the ones to make the league interesting with good officiating,” Maduforo told Completesports.com.
The coach who recently joined Aspire FC his major aim is to lead the team to promotion. “Taking the team to promotion is part of the reason for my coming into the team.

“Though we’ve won this match, it is not enough. Our target is to record more wins and we need to work hard to achieve our dreams for the season.”
John Bassey opened scoring for Aspire in the 77th minute courtesy from a penalty kick awarded by the centre referee, Emmanuel Chukwunedum. Obinna Isaac sealed the 2-0 win for his side two minutes into the seven minute extratime.
Goal scorer John Bassey was sent off just one minute to the end of the match due to second yellow card.
