Nmecha Subbed On, Lewandowski Sets Goals Record As Wolfsburg Suffer Heavy Defeat At Bayern

German-Born Nigerian midfielder Felix Nmecha was in action for struggling VFL Wolfsburg, who were thumped 4-0 by Bayern Munich with Robert Lewandowski setting a new goals record in the history of the Bundesliga.

Nmecha, 21, who is still eligible to represent Nigeria, Germany or England, was introduced in the 58th minute but could do nothing as Bayern sealed a comfortable win.

His older brother Lukas, who has represented Germany twice at senior international level, was not in Wolfsburg’s squad for the visit to the Allianz Arena due to ankle injury.

Goals from Thomas Muller (7th minute), Dayot Upamecano (57th minute), Leroy Sane (59th minute) and Robert Lewandowski (87th minute) made it seventh consecutive wins for Bayern.

And for Wolfsburg, they have now lost their last seven fixtures.

Meanwhile, Lewandowski netted his 18th league goal in 17 league appearances for the Bundesliga champions.

The 33-year-old Polish striker, who has netted five times in his last five league fixtures, set a calendar-year-record 43rd Bundesliga goal.

The win saw Bayern in 43 points, stretch their lead over second-placed Borussia Dortmund to nine points in the league table.

And as for Wolfsburg, they currently occupy 12th position on 20 points.

This guy Felix Nmecha played with the Man City junior team. A decent midfielder.
I posted a video of him once here on CSN. He’s likely inclined to play for Germany, like his elder bro Lukas. But who knows, he might opt for Nigeria if we ask nicely 🙂
