El-Kanemi Warriors have officially unveiled King Emmanuel as their new technical adviser ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The unveiling ceremony was held on Friday at the Colonel Abdulmumin Aminu Camp in Maiduguri.
Emmanuel replaces Kabiru Dogo, who departed the club at the end of last season after guiding the Borno Army to victory in the 2026 President Federation Cup. Dogo has since been appointed head coach of Niger Tornadoes.
Despite lifting the Federation Cup, El-Kanemi Warriors suffered relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football, League,NPFL, last season and will campaign in the Nigeria National League,NNL, in the new campaign.
The club’s management has entrusted Emmanuel with the task of securing an immediate return to the NPFL, while also leading the team in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.

Emmanuel Thankful For New Opportunity
Emmanuel expressed appreciation to the Government of Borno State for the confidence reposed in him.
“I sincerely thank the Government of Borno State under the leadership of His Excellency, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, and the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Comrade Saina Buba, for entrusting me with this responsibility,” Emmanuel said at the unveiling ceremony.
“I also want to assure the supporters of El-Kanemi Warriors FC across the world that we will work tirelessly to return the club to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) next season.
“We will also give our very best in the CAF Confederation Cup despite the challenges of the competition. With the support and prayers of the good people of Borno State and our fans worldwide, I am confident we will achieve our goals.”
El-Kanemi Warriors earned a place in the CAF Confederation Cup by winning the President Federation Cup, and will be aiming to make a strong impression on the continental stage under their new technical adviser.
