Former Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has backed Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to embark on a two-game strike despite earning €500,000 per year at Al Nassr.
According to A Bola, the absence of major signings during the last winter transfer window particularly irritated the Real Madrid legend.
As a sign of protest, he did not participate in the match against Al-Riyadh on the day the window closed, before also missing the following match against Al-Ittihad.

Reacting to the development, the German international stated that without Ronaldo, the Saudi League will lose all its charm.
“The Saudi league is a strange phenomenon. No one had heard of it before the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, and now they disrespect the man who put them on the world map.
“If Cristiano leaves tomorrow, this league will lose all its charm. Without Ronaldo, no one would see the Saudi league.”
