Norwich summer signing Ibrahim Amadou could make his debut when Chelsea visit Carrow Road on Saturday.
The Canaries snapped up the midfielder on a season-long loan deal on transfer deadline day from Spanish side Sevilla but he has yet to be included in a match-day squad.
The Cameroon-born Frenchman may be in line to feature against Chelsea in the early kick off on Saturday but he will probably have to settle for a place among the substitutes after Norwich picked up a first win of the season over Newcastle last time out, as boss Daniel Farke will be reluctant to change a winning team.
Norwich have the option to buy Amadou outright at the end of the season.
The Canaries will be hoping fellow summer recruit Josip Drmic can ease the scoring burden on Teemu Pukki in the weeks ahead but the Switzerland international remains unavailable with a thigh injury.
Timm Klose and Christoph Zimmermann are likely to miss out again for the hosts with respective groin and knee injuries.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard could be tempted to make changes to his defence as Antonio Rudiger is now fit.
Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma have been Lampard’s opening partnership in the heart of defence in the first two games of the season, with the latter looking the most vulnerable should the Blues manager decide to bring Rudiger back into the starting XI.
Brazilian forward Willian is pushing for a recall after making an appearance as a substitute in the draw with Leicester last weekend.
If Willian does feature he will be making his 200th Premier League appearance.
Lampard remains without England international Callum Hudson-Odoi due to an Achilles tendon injury.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek also has an Achilles injury and isn’t expected to make a return until November, with reports this week indicating Lampard intends to use him as a striker when he does make a return to action.
Chelsea lost the UEFA Super Cup final to Liverpool and have just one point to show from two games so far, meaning Lampard could become the first Chelsea manager since Bobby Campbell in 1988 to fail to win any of his first four competitive games in charge if they fail to take all three points on Saturday.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
