Former AC Milan manager, Fabio Capello was left unimpressed with Victor Osimhen’s performance in Napoli’s defeat to Barcelona.
The Partenopei suffered a 3-1 away defeat to Barcelona on Tuesday and were, therefore, eliminated from the UEFA Champions League.
Osimhen scored Napoli’s solitary goal in the first leg but was largely anonymous in the reverse fixture.

Capello reckoned that the Nigeria international was far from his best in the game.
“He was flagged offside six times in the first half and went unnoticed in the second half,” the former England manager said during Sky Sport Italia’s post-match show
“It was not the same Osimhen we usually see. He struggled against Barcelona defenders and only won one aerial duel. Barcelona’s weak point was the defence, and he could not emerge.”
Napoli’s next Serie A game is against Inter Milan at the Stadio Meazza in San Siro on Sunday, March 17.

This is just racism. Osihmen was good against Barcelona. His teammates did not pass well to him . This discrimination is bad. Osihmen is far better than Erling Haaland.
Always blaming his team mates, my friend if you didn’t watch the match, try and watch the clips now, both leafs osimhen was poor, not only in the UCL but in all matches so far this season, you guys praise him to heaven when ever he score does tap in goals like scoring is not what a strikers are paid to do on the soccer pitch.
He better find is form back before the end of the season or find himself way below his present market worth and see all the big teams back off from signing him. You all can continue kissing his ass for all I care instead of telling it to his face that he is loosing it gradually.
Thank you, I totally agree.
Here is what I said on a previous post:
“ts not a good sign if you cant show up on big games. I swear this is like the 3rd year in a row where Osimhen did nothing deep in uefa competitions. I couldve sworn Napoli went against Barcelona in the europa league in 2022 and they got destroyed early in the game. You dont show up against real madrid in the group stage, what makes you think you can show up for barcelona?
People always bet on Napoli to win but they just dont show up. Having a sucker team with a bunch of low rank players because the owner sold players dont help either. Especially shuffling managers too. To go from winning to league to a low as 9th is something.
And people here was saying Peseiro was holding Osimhen back”
If they sell Osimhen and the team does bad, ill understand. But I see a lot of people kissing Osimhens ass, like he does no wrong. These teams are gonna back off signing him after knowing, seeing him not really have much to offer. The only thing Osimhen have to offer is that he is Nigerian, because Nigerians are cheap commodity for the english league. Nigerians want to shaku shaku in London. Other than that he is not doing well. He doesnt show up in big games. If you cant battle big teams your just not worth it. No consistency.
Good player Osimhen….but taking too long to learn to time his runs. Great striker but that’s an area he needs to work on. He could score more goals with a little more precision in timing his runs. Wishing him all the best.
Oga shut up
What’s racism here now
That your star man was offside 6 times in 45mins or that he was pocketed by a 17 year old or that he never got 2 shots on target
Please shut up ur mouth
Osimhen is a good attacker but too much power and brawl… His footwork is lacking and needs to practice more to develop better allround skill… Some will curse me now but I must say it… Victor Boniface seems to me a more refined player than Osimhen.
Osimhen is still Suffering from being overworked in AFCON by Peseiro All those hailing Peseiro just know this is one of the ripple effects of Peseiro AFCON Campaign.. Those of you who played sports will understand how fatigue in a single tournament can affect you for Months to come. I will open your eyes we will only see the best of Osimhen during the next season any Nigerian coach should rest Osimhen now and wrap him up in cotton if we want to see the best of Osimhen he needs t be rested as much as possible for the remainder of the season meaning these upcoming internationals he must be rested anyway I envisage he will pullout of them and I will not blame him. We need to protect our best players these kind of way.
P.s however Knowing Osimhen he will not voice his and his patriotism and Nigerians Neativity if he does pull out will make him accept coming but In all honesty If I were Osimhen I will excuse myself from these Upcoming Internationals to rest up and come back fresh because for a player even if you are fatigued and enter a game knowing full well you cannot give 100% if you don’t give that 100% and have a bad perfromance and not score as a striker it will affect your confidence NIgeria we need to Rest Osimhen after that AFCON exertion for his own Benefit.
Peserio did alot of harm to our players with his AFCON tactics and it is showing I mean in an intense knock out phase in extreme heat and humidity you over worked Osimhen Like that. I even Remember against Angola in that extreme heat in the 80min Osimhen went down injured got stretched off the pitch and the coach still sent hm back out same game. As a result he started South Africa Injured and still played 90 mins na wa ooo even when he was struggling from the 85th minute of the game…… That is some off the weird calls he made
