The Executive Chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan Akoro, has promised to reward the team with double bonus, should they secure the maximum points in the first away matches of the season, starting with Sunday’s League opener away to Nasarawa United FC in Lafia.
He made this promise while addressing the players on Thursday In Ijebu-Ode.
The former Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, who used the occasion to officially welcome the club’s new acquisitions, expressed the readiness of the management to continue and improve on its welfare package for players, which according to him, remains the priority of the management.
“I am here representing His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde and the good people of the state, and I want to assure you that they are all behind you.
One thing that is peculiar with us here is that we prioritise players’ welfare. You can ask those who have been with us before now, they will testify to this”.

The retired referee hinted that the club would aim for nothing but the league title this season, urging the players to exhibit high level discipline, determination, even as he charged them to stick together as one family.
“Having seen you play two friendly matches here and having seen you in training, I can see the maturity in you guys, but I still want to see that cohesion in the team, stated the 3SC boss.
Honourable Olaniyan, who expressed joy with the progress made by some of the players paraded by the team last season, disclosed that Shooting Stars will not in anyway, hinder any player who gets offers outside the country from attaining greater heights in their career.
Team captain Gali Falke, while responding on behalf of the players, congratulated Honourable Akoro on his appointment into the NPFL board, praised the management for its commitment, assuring of the players’ readiness to fight for the league title this season.
General Manager of the Ibadan soccer lords Dimeji Lawal, the Director of Finance and Account, Mrs Abiodun Oyeyemi, Technical Adviser Gbenga Ogunbote, his assistants as well as other backroom staff were on ground for the parley.
