Barau FC winger Joseph Atule has set his sights on scoring up to 20 goals in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, this season.
Atule is expected to play a key role for the Maliya Boys as they look to make a strong impression in the new campaign.
The former Enyimba player contributed five goals and eight assists for Barau FC last season and is determined to improve on those numbers this term.
Atule revealed that he has challenged himself to become more prolific in front of goal.
“I have sat down and thought about it. I’ve also challenged myself. If I am not going to score 20 goals, then it should still be a lot of goals,” Atule told NPFL media.

“I am not going to put a specific number on it, but I am looking at scoring 19 to 20 goals. That’s my target.”
Atule Confident Ahead Of Nasarawa United Clash
The winger also expressed confidence ahead of Barau FC’s opening game of the campaign against Nasarawa United.
Atule said the players have shown strong commitment and unity in training and are determined to begin the season on a positive note.
“Training before our first game went well. The intensity is high, and I can see the commitment and unity among the players,” he added.
“Every player is raring to go, and on Sunday we will get a good result against Nasarawa United.”
