Barau FC, Kano, have completed the signing of no fewer than 14 new players during the current transfer window as coach Eugene Agagbe continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, which is tentatively scheduled to kick off in August, Completesports.com reports.
Barau FC Secure Albania and Egypt Returnees
Leading the list of new arrivals is Christian Egbutudike, who returns to the Nigerian top flight after a spell with Albanian club FK Kukesi.
Also joining the Kano-based side is Al-Amin Umar, who previously played for Egyptian second-tier club Telecom FC.
Barau FC Bolster Squad Across All Departments
This is just as Elvis Obuko, a central defender, has joined up from Warri wolves.
Barau FC have also secured the signatures of Bayelsa United duo Stephen Wisdom, a midfielder, and Energy Kennedy, an attacker. Defender Idris Sa’idu joins from Niger Tornadoes, while Daddy Abdulrahman has moved from El-Kanemi Warriors.

Other new signings include midfielder Ahmad Liman from Niger Tornadoes, attacking midfielder Casmir Azubuike from Abia Warriors, forward Anthony Omaka from Rivers United, attacking midfielder Ajina Boluwatife from ABS Ilorin, Suur Kumaga from Lobi Stars, Adekunle Oluwasegun Samuel from Nasarawa United, and former Wikki Tourists midfielder Nasiru Jubrin.
Agagbe Targets Stronger Campaign with New Recruits
“We started preparations for the coming season three weeks ago. We’ve brought in quite a number of new players, and now we’re trying to blend them together so we can present a better and stronger team for the season,” Dominic Iorfa, former Super Eagles forward and now General Manager of Barau FC, told Completesports.com on Thursday morning.
The Maliya Boys finished their debut NPFL campaign in eighth place with 52 points, recording 13 wins, 13 draws and 12 defeats.
