NPFL: Enyimba, Pillars Set Aba On Fire; MFM, Rangers Clash In Lagos

The Enyimba International Stadium, Aba will host the star match of matchday five in the Nigeria Professional League between former champions Enyimba and Kano Pillars on Sunday, Completesports.com reports.

Enyimba, who lost for the first time in the league this season following a 2-0 defeat to oriental rival Heartland in midweek will be desperate to return to winning ways again.

Enyimba head coach Fatai Osho will rely on the of duo of Victor Mbaoma and Samad Kadiri to deliver the goods against their highly-rated foes.

Pillars, who occupy third position on the table are yet to taste defeat this season, with two wins and two draws from their opening four games.

At the ‘Soccer Temple’ Agege Stadium, Lagos, MFM will take on Rangers in another mouth-watering clash.

The two teams head into the game in boisterous mood following positive results in midweek.

MFM secured a draw away to Dakkada in Uyo, while Rangers beat FC IfeanyiUbah 2-1 in an oriental derby clash at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium.

Dakkada FC, another side yet to taste defeat this season will look to extend their unbeaten streak when they face Lobi Stars at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi.

In Port Harcourt, Rivers United will entertain Heartland in what is expected to be another thrilling contest.

The hosts lost for the first time this season after going down 1-0 to Wikki Tourists in Bauchi on Wednesday.

Heartland recorded their first win of the campaign against Enyimba in Owerri in their last match.

In another matcday five encounter, Sunshine Stars will be up against Warri Wolves at the Akure Township Stadium, while Nasarawa United will host Katsina United in Lafia.

Former Super Eagles assistant coach Imama Amapakabo will be the centre of attraction when Abia Warriors face FC IfeanyiUbah in an oriental derby game in Umuahia.

Abia Warriors have lost all four league games this season, with the latest a 3-1 home defeat to Jigawa Golden Stars on Wednesday.

Imama has been handed a three-game ultimatum by the club and defeat in this game will further put his job on the line.

In the last two fixtures for the weekend, Akwa United and Wikki Tourists will clash in Uyo, while the game between Plateau United and Adamawa United will hold in Jos.
