      Calm down…!

“…Stanley Eguma’s side lost 1-0 to Sunshine Stars in Akure on the final day of the campaign but were awarded three points by the Nigeria Football Federation disciplinary committee over a disputed match against Jigawa Golden Stars, who fielded an ineligible player…”

Rivers United as you rightly pointed out finished in 6th position, but the were awarded free 3 points which pushed them to 2nd position and Enyimba to 3rd.

Why the LMC waited till after the last match of the league to award points is still something they only can explain.

What kind of board room decision is this on the final day of the season when Enyimba did the business on the day and should be qualifying for the CAF Champions League? When are we going to get things right?

I was following the matches on flashscore seeing the changes on the league whenever a goal is scored. Even that Rivers match which they lost in Akure guaranteed another season for the Sunshine Stars while Jigawa Golden stars loss at Agege to MFM condemned them to relegation on the last day as they were safe going to the last day.

How can this same Jigawa Golden Stars lose 3 points to qualify Rivers for CL?

The days ahead will be interesting.

  • The worst board since I started following Nigeria football is the Plnnik board. Why should the board wait till after the last matches have been played before awarding board room points. Na WA for this board. No sponsor for the league for the past three seasons. No consistent tv shows on the league. Everything to me about our league na jaga jaga. That is why I don’t always have hope on our continental representatives. Let us watch and see what will happen this time around.

How on earth will NFF Disciplinary Committee took such board room decision after all matches have been played?

It is a day light robbery for Eyimba and Kwara United if such decision is made to stand

  • Everything about Pinnick board is always surrounded with controversy since this board assumed office more than five years ago especially when it relates to the domestic league. No single achievement on the continent for our clubs. South Africa, Tanzania.Democratic Republic of Congo and Ghana to mention afew are more organized than Nigeria. They have organized calender e.g South Africa have successfully allien their football calendar to that of Europe. Nigeria is yet to successfully achieve this and that’s why our best players continue to leave at the middle of the league and not been retain for at least two seasons. Also no single sponsor for the past three seasons of the domestic league. Absent of television live coverage unlike the above mention examples. Tell me how you expect an average performance of our representative on the continent. Watch the coming 2021/2022 league season will start with controversy and course series of pospoment of the commencement of the league and end with controversy.it has become the Hallmark of our league and I will be surprised if the coming seasons
which is yet to have a date unlike other leagues in Africa and part of the world did not follow the same pattern. These and many more are what is making me to get to conclude that the worse board over year in term of having effective organized league is Pinnick board. No single effective committee since exception without complain or controversy. I rest my case.
