The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Refereeing Development Committee has handed referee Yakubu Adamu an indefinite suspension from all league and football-related activities over his officiating in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 37 encounter between Rangers and Bendel Insurance.
The committee said the suspension takes immediate effect after Adamu awarded a penalty during the encounter that was judged to be inconsistent with the Laws of the Game.
The decision, which resulted in a goal, was considered to have had a major impact on the outcome of the match.

According to the committee, the referee’s conduct brought the game into disrepute, leading to the disciplinary action against the match official.
Rangers won the game played at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Stadium, Enugu 2-1 to maintain their push for a ninth NPFL title.
The Flying Antelopes top the standings with 65 points, while second-placed Rivers United have 64 points.
Rangers will be away to Ikorodu City on the final day of the campaign, while Rivers United will entertain Katsina United in Port Harcourt.
