NPFL: Remo Stars Pip Sunshine 1-0 In South West Derby

Remo Stars recorded a 1-0 victory over Sunshine Stars in the South West derby in Ikenne on Saturday.

Shuaib Ibrahim scored on his debut for the Sky Blue Stars.

Ibrahim met a lofted ball from Ifeanyi Anaemena and slotted the ball home after dribbling past a defender.

The hosts were unable to add to their lead despite creating numerous chances.

Remo Stars extended their winning run to two games.

The defeat was Sunshine Stars’ first in the 2024/25 season.

Earlier on Saturday, Rivers United defeated Heartland 3-1 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.

Six more matchday two games will be played on Sunday.
