Team Delta women’s football team head coach Nelly Orisakwe has talked up her team’s performance at the 2024 National Sports Festival.
Orisakwe’s side defeated the Flamingos 7-6 on penalties in the final of the women’s football football event at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta on Tuesday night.
The game ended 0-0 in regulation time.
Goalkeeper Oparanyanwu Favour was the hero as she saved twice from the spot in the shootout.

The gaffer dedicated the gold medal to the entire Team Delta.
“This medal is for our chairman, the entire Team Delta family, and everyone who believed in us,” she said.
“It was not easy, especially with the kind of unsupportive audience we faced, but we stayed focused and got the result.”
Team Delta currently occupy second position on the medals table.
