Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) is grief-stricken as it announces the passing of Mr. Emeka Ogbu, a stalwart in Nigerian sports and the revered President of NUGA, as well as the Director of Sports at Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT).
Mr. Ogbu’s departure on Monday, November 26, 2023, has left a profound void in the nation’s sporting community.

“The untimely passing of Mr. Emeka Ogbu is not just a loss to the sporting fraternity but also a moment of poignant reflection for those who had the privilege of knowing him personally. His legacy exemplifies unwavering dedication, exceptional leadership, and an unmatched love for sports,” a statement made available to Completesports.com by NUGA Acting Secretary General, Chidiebere Ezeani, on Tuesday reads in part.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his remarkable contributions to the realm of university sports in Nigeria remain forever treasured and honoured.
