AC Milan attacker Christian Pulisic believes there is still a great chance for the team to qualify to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League.
Recall that AC Milan loss at home to Borussia Dortmund has the team’s hopes hanging by a thread.
The team must beat Newcastle in their last Group game if they are to make it through to the next stages.
However, in a chat with TribalFootball, Pulisic stated that he’s still optimistic AC Milan will qualify.
“We had the opportunities, at the end of the first half and at the beginning of the second. Only our lack of attention allowed them to score 1-2, it was tough.
“I think it’s never over, we still have a chance to get through. We had a great opportunity, but we wasted it.
“We can control what we can control and try to win against Newcastle. The fans were fantastic, the atmosphere was beautiful, they pushed us. It’s bad not to have made it.”
Dortmund sit three points ahead of Paris St-Germain at the top of Group F after the French side Pheld Newcastle United to a draw.
PSG’s result keeps Milan firmly in the mix for knockout qualification and they will progress if they beat Newcastle and PSG lose to Dortmund on 13 December.
