Nigerian striker Anthony Nwakaeme expressed delight after ending his stint with Trabzonspor on a high by winning a trophy.
Trabzonspor clinched the Turkish Cup for a record 10th time after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Konyaspor in Friday night’s final.
Nwakaeme’s fellow Nigerian, Paul Onuachu, scored twice for Fatih Tekke’s side in the fiercely contested clash.

The 37-year-old was unused substitute in the encounter.
Successful End To Season
Nwakaeme said it was important for the players to reward the fans with something to celebrate in appreciation of their unwavering support throughout the campaign.
“We won the cup. I told my teammates that we had a very good season and that we needed to win the cup,” he told the club’s official website.
“We are very happy to have given the cup to our fans who came all this way.
Nwakaeme Hero At Papara Park
Nwakaeme first joined Trabzonspor from Israeli club Hapoel Be’er Sheva in 2018.
The experienced striker won the Turkish Super Lig, Turkish Cup, and Turkish Super Cup during his four-year stint with the club.
He rejoined the Claret and Blues for a second spell in 2024 after spending two years at Saudi Arabia Professional League outfit Al-Fahya.

This season he scored a goal and made three assists in 21 appearances.
Befitting Farewell From Trabzonspor
Nwakaeme, alongside Edin Višća, was presented with a special appreciation plaque by the club ahead of the Turkish Cup final against Konyaspor.
The duo were honoured for their commitment to the club and the remarkable successes they helped achieve.
The plaques were presented to the two players by President Ertuğrul Doğan, Vice President Zeyyat Kafkas, and Deputy President Nevzat Kaya.
