Premier League champions Arsenal have confirmed Ethan Nwaneri’s loan move to Borussia Dortmund.
The Gunners announced the move in a statement on their website on transfer deadline day.
“Ethan Nwaneri has joined Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund on a season-long loan.
“The 19-year-old Hale End graduate has been with us since the age of eight and signed his first professional contract in March 2024 when he turned 17.
“Ethan had already made history by that point, having made his first-team debut as a substitute away to Brentford in September 2022. Aged just 15 years and 181 days old, he became the youngest player in Premier League history, while the appearance also made him our youngest-ever player in any competition.

“A breakthrough 2024/25 campaign saw Ethan make 37 appearances in all competitions, including 26 in the Premier League and seven in the UEFA Champions League. He scored his first goals for the club in September 2024, netting twice in our 5-1 Carabao Cup win against Bolton Wanderers, before opening his Premier League account two months later in our 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest at Emirates Stadium.
“Ethan spent the second half of last season on loan in the south of France with Marseille, making 11 appearances in all competitions with the Ligue 1 side.
“An England youth international, Ethan has represented the Young Lions at every age group from Under-16 to Under-21 level, making 58 appearances and scoring 27 goals.
“We wish Ethan all the best during his valuable time with Borussia Dortmund and look forward to following his continued development.
“The loan deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.”
