Odey Thrilled To Win Belgian Super Cup Title With Genk

Nigeria forward Stephen Odey is thrilled to win his first trophy with his new Belgian club, KRC Genk, reports Completesports.com.

Genk claimed the Belgian Super Cup title following a 3-0 win against KK Mechelen at the Luminus Arena on Saturday.

Sebastien Dewaest’s brace and a strike from Dante Vanzeir were enough for the Blue-White to win the game.

It was the former MFM striker’s second trophy since his arrival in Europe after winning the Swiss Cup with FC Zurich in the 2017/2018 season.

“I count myself lucky to have lifted two major trophies under three years since moving to Europe. First it was Swiss Cup with FC Zurich and now Belgian Super Cup with @KRCGenkofficial. 🎖️🏆💪⚪🔵,” Odey tweeted on his Twitter platform.

Odey, was signed by Genk last month following his impressive performance for FC Zurich, where he scored 16 goals across all competitions.

We need winners in the super eagles players that have that knack to win.
Good fortune what some call luck.Unfortunately good as he is Ighalo is a very unfortunate player despite amazing returns but lack any trophy to show for it.
We may go to Cameroon in a couple of years and win with a less talented but fortunate striker. You need that luck sometimes to excel.
So when a player calls it a day we shouldn’t stress too much because it could be what needs to be done for us to end up in gold next time.
