Official: Alaba Announces Bayern Munich Exit

Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has confirmed he will leave the German champions at the end of the current season.

Alaba, 28, linked up with the Bavarians in 2008, and has since made an incredible 415 appearances for the Bundesliga club.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season, the Austria international has now confirmed he will be leaving Bayern in June.

“I have personally made the decision to try something new after this season and to leave the club. It wasn’t an easy decision, I’ve been here for 13 years and the club is very important to me,” he said during a press conference.

Real Madrid are favourites to sign him on a free deal, while the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and FC Barcelona are said to be also interested in his services.
