The Rizespor midfielder will be looked upon to inspire the U-23 Eagles in their final qualifying round tie against Sudan for a place in the group stages of the 2019 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations tournament billed to hold from November 8 to 22 in Egypt.

Sudan booked a date with the U-23 Eagles after holding Kenya to a goalless draw in the second leg of their first qualifying round fixture at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi on Tuesday.

The Sudanese advanced 2-0 on aggregate.

Sudan will host the first leg on June 5 with the reverse fixture billed to hold in Nigeria on June 9.

  • This is a shame on us as a nation. How on earth this guy will be claiming to be under 23 year old. Fair enough I’m not his father, but he played this same competition four years ago? All these underage competitions is for developmental purpose, it must not be winning at all cost. Even the coaches need to be be responsible, if a player comes to you and say this is my so-so age it is your responsibility to use your intuition. Talkless this guy played the same competition years ago. A word is enough for the wise.

    • Greenturf 5 years ago

He was very young four years ago in shot he should have played for the under 20 then but Siasia invited him first because Manu Garba who incidentally was the under 20 coach then had options in the defensive midfield and wasn’t desperate to add Zubby.
So he is still within the age limits and deserves to be part of the team.

    • Tola you sound like a naive human being. These are sports men. With more testosterone than your average 23 year olds. If you are that aggrieved go and sue.
