Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes the former Super Eagles trio of Austine Okocha, Sunday Oliseh, and Nwankwo Kanu had a great influence on black players worldwide.
Recall that Okocha, Oliseh, and Kanu played important roles in their various clubs in Europe, where they were respected for their huge talents.
The former Bolton star was also a major influence on the playing style of several other footballers across the globe, including German playmaker Mesut Özil as well as Brazilian playmaker Ronaldinho, whom Okocha played alongside during their time together at Paris Saint-Germain.

“We used to watch Jay Jay Okocha’s videos, and everyone wanted to play like him.
“It was great seeing him in the Premier League after making his name with Eintracht Frankfurt and PSG.
“Nigerian players of that era—Okocha, Oliseh, Kanu—had a huge influence on black players worldwide.”
