Okoye Helps Udinese Beat Lecce, Move Up To Second

Maduka Okoye was in goal for Udinese who defeated Lecce 1-0 in the Serie A on Saturday.

The win took Udinese to second place on 13 points, just three points behind leaders Napoli after seven games.

It was Okoye’s seventh appearance in the Italian topflight this season.

A Jordan Zemura goal with 15 minutes left was enough to secure the three points for Okoye and his teammates.

Udinese bounced back to winning ways after they lost 3-2 at home to champions Inter Milan.

On Saturday, Okoye was included in the Super Eagles 23-man squad for this month’s 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Libya.

He was also invited for the games against Benin Republic and Rwanda in September but was on the bench for both games.

The Eagles beat Benin Republic 3-0 in Uyo before holding Rwanda tona 0-0 draw.
