Omeruo Targets Quick Return To Action With Leganes After Injury Setback

Leganes defender Kenneth Omeruo hopes to make a quick return to action for the club after picking up an injury in Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to champions Barcelona, reports Completesports.com.

Omeruo, who put up a fine peformance in the encounter at the Estadio Municipal de Burtaque was replaced by Rodri Tarin seven minutes from time.

His international teammate, Chidozie Awaziem was unused substitute in the game.

Morocco midfielder Youssef En-Nesyri put Leganes ahead in the 12th minute, but Barcelona rallied back with goals from Luis Suarez and Arturo Vidal in the second half to earn maximum points in the game.

“Going to be back soon… we keep fighting together with our strong supporters #vamosleganes #omeruo,”reads a tweet on his Twitter handle.

  • With Semi Ajayi not entirely covering himself in glory against Lesotho where the poor timing of his jump gifted the hosts their first and only goal, Omeruo might yet spot an opening for to regain his starting position in the Super Eagles.

His immediate concern though is to recover from the recent injury set back to which I wish him speedy recovery.

    • Correction : **first and significant goal**. Lesotho did score a second goal.
