O’Neil: Etebo Not Returning To Stoke City This Month

Stoke City manager Michael O’Neil has ruled out the possibility of Oghenekaro Etebo returning from his loan spell this month, Completesports.com reports.

Etebo linked up with Turkish giants Galatasaray on a one-year loan deal last summer following a short spell with Granada in Spain.

The Nigeria international has been linked with a return to the Stoke City this month but O’Neil has moved to quash the rumour.

“It’s definitely a rumour! The players who are out on loan are out on loan for the season and that won’’t change,” O’Neil told a news conference on Friday.

“It was what they wanted at that period in time. They made that decision and we made that decision as a club.

“Maybe because the loan hasn’t gone well, you can’t just decide you want to come back. It doesn’t work like that.

“We don’t envisage any of the loan players who are currently at various clubs returning to Stoke in January.”

Peter Etebo is far better than Joe Aribo.

When I insisted Etebo is played out of position and he cannot ecell in an unfamiliar position my people say I dey yanpoto, some said he is our best midfielder against serrieleone, I lafeded in zulu, this guy is not a natural midfielder though he possesses some class in his midfield attitudes, he has always been a good player, but not in the midfield, if I were to be in Rohr shoes i will try Etebo in supporting striker role, either as 8 or as left side winger, this is the problem the guy is facing in his career playing out of position will not bring out your best. Etebo may do better than musa and kalu in that position becos he got speed, control, good crosser and a good passer of the ball, he also shoot better than the above, we saw this in olimpic scoring 4 goals in one match, we also saw a beautiful cross from the left side against cameroun in the last afcon(first goal against cameroun) that is the real etebo, how can you convert rooney to become gattuso? Bcos he is rubost and thick, I love etebo very much I watched all his games with u23 and also watched his highlights with worri wolves, the guy is an offensive playmaker not a central or defensive midfielder, who ever brought the idea to him didn’t do well at all, he have reduced the guy into loanea….., if a player is playing out of position in cases of etebo playing as CM or DM he can show class or style when the game is average but when the pressure is high he will definitely flop E.G given the ball out in a very wrong way, lacking awareness, slow in decision making, missing in position and lack consistency, these are the major problem etebo faces both for country and club, my brother I have watched you in an interview where you admitted that you aren’t a midfielder, please stick to your complain and get the coaches return you to where you rightfully belongs before it’s too late, enough of your loan moves, whenever Etebo play in the midfield without Ndidi onazi or ogu, we have either lost those matches or at maximum drew even when we are four or two goals lead. A word is enough for the wiseman, return to your wing you may do better than iheanacho as a supporting striker, and you can outclass the likes of kalu or m simon in the wings, you have done it befor in olimpic and your skills are still written all over you, whenever i look at Etebo, i see a supposed Nigerian sadio Mane not a Ghanian sule muntari that you are trying to be. Call your galatasary coach he is looking for wingers trying to get back onyekuru and he is biding for kalu and musa, tell him you can play from the wings too prove it to him it may be the beginning of a new life for you. Lastly you may be our missing victor moses.
