Onuachu Scores 14th League Goal, Black Stars Striker Paintsil‘s Goals Drought Continues As Genk Win

Paul Onuachu was on target for Genk who defeated Standard Liege 2-0, in the Belgian Jupiler on Sunday.

It was Onuachu’s 14th goal in 22 league appearances and his 16th in all competitions for Genk so far this season.

Onuachu doubled Genk’s lead in the 53rd minute after failing to score in their last league game which they lost on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old was replaced in the 88th minute by Black Star of Ghana striker Joseph Paintsil who once again failed to find the back of the net.

Paintsil has now failed to score in his last 13 games for both club and country, with his last goal coming in December 2021.

He has just one league goal in 14 league games for Genk this season and has five in all competitions.

He was part of the Ghana squad that crashed out in the group stage of the just concluded AFCON in Cameroon.

Sunday’s win saw Genk occupy eight place – Europa League Play-off spot – on 38 points in the 18-team league table.

Onuachu the Great… Carry go my brother. You are one of the best Super Eagles strikers at the moment. Your goals are evidence of your greatness. Just make sure you stay fit for the game against Ghana. We need you to spearhead our attack. Heaven bless Onuachu and all deserving Super Eagles strikers.

    • Greenturf 2 years ago

Spearhead which attack is that a joke??

    • What a joke? Hahahaha! Onuachu will not smell the bench or want us to drop Iheanacho?

      • Chale moren 2 years ago

        @Sam
Iheanacho is the worst striker on the Nigeria side. He lacks confidence in front of goal, saw what happened in the last Afcon.

        • Chima E Samuels 2 years ago

Another confused Charlatan what makes Iheanacho worst Dumbo?

        • John-I 2 years ago

So Umar Sadiq who constantly misses one-on-one like a woman missing her period was better than Iheanacho? Lol. Kai.

By the way, how many strikers managed to score against Egypt in the entire Afcon tournament? Even Senegal (with all their stars) couldn’t score against them in 120 minutes. But Iheanacho scored a beauty against the same Egypt.
No Nigerian attacker in that tournament has the better shooting accuracy than Nacho, it’s a fact. Only Osimhen is ahead. In fact, Victor Osimhen ahead due to pace, aggression and physicality rather than precision.

Una just hate guy for nothing lol

            What is this disgusting nonsense?
What is the comparison between a striker missing chances and a woman missing her period?
Na this same mouth you go take go church on Sunday?
            Tufiakwa!

          • John-I 2 years ago

General Pompei, we don see you wey dey go church nah, with all the abuses, denigrations and insults you litter CSN with. You dey try lol

Still John-I, your statement was misogynistic and inappropriate. It is insensitive to any women readers we have here. It is mean-spirited. You need to apologise for any offense you might have caused.

You people should stop playing righteous and over killing things here. Figuratively and literally he was only trying to compare. Some people have said worst things than him in this forum and nobody died.

Figuratively and literally there is nothing wrong in what he said

He is nothing but a flash in the pan. That’s not who our coaching crew needs. Congrats anyway, Onuacha.

  • Michel 2 years ago

Scores a lot of goals for club but not for the national team

  • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

Our 3 sure strikers, especially against Ghana: Ighalo, Osimehn, iheanacho.

    • Walking 2 years ago

Monkey post, are you using the noun “our”?

      Wonders will not end.

      • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

LMAO!.I wonder why you people still think that am not a Nigerian all because I spit the truth here all the time and I choose not to support “your own” who is unqualified and unfit.

  • JimmyBall 2 years ago

I don’t want to know if he plays like a snail and has no bit but Paulinhodowski is a confirm goaldemon! Lol… This guy will forever be talked about in Belgium football folklore…

  • Foolish comment@Chale. Iheanacho scored the wonder-left-footed strike that gave the SE victory over Egypt at 2021 AFCON. And we were the only nation that beat Egypt at the AFCON during open play. What about the beautiful assist he gave to Sadiq to score?

Even Ighalo and Osimhen combined cannot score that kind of left-footed top-right-corner goal Nacho scored vs Egypt.

I wish to encourage Nacho to do more. He should be more ferocious and aggressive like Vardy but Nacho is highly clinical.

Nacho has scored beautiful goals vs Man City, Man U, and others in recent times.

Ighalo was recently caged by CapeV and Chelsea defense in the CWC semis and benched in finals. Even Osimhen couldn’t score but very active vs Italy on Saturday.

So, a striker must not score in all matches played.

    • Chima E Samuels 2 years ago

Chale is one of those fake dudes that has poor memory. Tomorrow if he scores they’ll sing high praises LMAO!

    • John-I 2 years ago

Nosa – Some people no sabi play ball, dem no come sabi watch joinam. How someone said Iheanacho is the worst striker is just beyond being ridiculous. I doubt how many Super Eagles players can score than Iheanacho volley against Egypt. Where the ball went, I doubt even Manuel Neuer or Buffon can reach it. Clinical strike.

    Chale na Ghana pikin.

  • pompei 2 years ago

CSN, John Painstil na retired Ghana defender.
Na Joseph Painstil dey play ball for Genk.

  • pompei 2 years ago

Well, it’s a good move. Make we dey look.
    May the waka be productive.
